  1. Pancreatic cancer is the worst. And the chemo they use is bad. I had some crap chemo sessions, but it is not a match against pancreatic cancers chemo therapy. And a bit of extra weight helps with the chemo and effects of chemo. And know the water and rooibos thing. Started drinking Lipton Ice tea just to have a little bit of change. Problem with South Africa is that there is no regulations regarding free range products. They can’t say that a product has no added hormones even though it says free range. I have lost all trust in farmers and stores. They will say anything to make a few bucks from anyone. Even had a butcher tell me that the sausages had no pork. Then a week later the same sausages had a ingredients list, and pork was one of the main ingredients. I no longer support that store (Spar in Solomon Mahlangu Road)
  2. Going home today again. The CT Scan came back as clear. So no blood clots left in my lungs. The infection I have, can be dealt with at home as there is less chance of picking up another bug from other patients in the wards.
  3. Back in Kloof Hospital. Possible blood clot in my lungs. Infection count is also very high, as well as white blood cell count.
  4. Just arrived home. Lost a lot of muscle and strength the past few weeks. Had to use a wheel chair to get out of the hospital. So at home now and hope to regain my strength back soon
  5. Out of theatre. In a world of pain. Not sure if I will see the doctor today still, and sounds like I might be home for Christmas.
  6. Just got a call. Will be back in theatre for closure of the wounds. At least in the surgical ward I can sleep
  7. hi Robert. They surgeon is only now going to close the wound. Wait for it to heal, see if I can get my insides going again, reverse the ileostomy, check the tumor in my liver, remove that, and then start chemo again.
  8. At last. Out of High Care! I am now in the surgical ward, room 7, SG 19
  9. Hi Blokes. You are more than welcome to come and visit. Kloof hospital, High care unit, 2nd floor. They are very lenient on visiting hours. Sorry, posting on behalf of Francois (his wife). Thanks for all the well wishes.
  10. Hi Guys. Sorry for being down, but had an littl setback. Of the resection sites had started leaking they had to do a emergency operation last might. Started with vomiting Tuesday night that continued until Wednesday morning. Got my 3rd emergency NGO tube and after vomiting 1.5l they drew out another 1.2L from my stomach. Dr had to create a temp ileostomy to relieve the pressure on the sites so not to cause another problem. So morphine sucks to be on sill you are in need of is. Thanks again for your support guys and girls
  11. Hi guys and girls Posting from high care. Not allowed to have phone here. Thins went well. They removed the colon tumor, removed my spleen and reversed the colostomy. Doctor did not want to place more strain on the liver. So will do that later on. Had a little bit of broth and water then go sick from it, so gave me a drip in food form now just to get my energy levels up again. So still fighting the fight. Started walking but not having energy left, they said to take it slow for now
  12. Checked in, paper work done. Sexy surgery underwear and gown all here. Surgery sounds like scheduled for 17h15. A huge thanks again for the support from all the BikeHub folks! Could not have done any of this without your help
  13. The doctor gave me a mild sedative. And local anaesthetic. And he only went as far as to check the tumour location so was not a complete procedure. Was about 10 minutes max. Was awake but could not care much. We had to make the hard choice not to move at the moment. There is no time to pack and I might still be in the hospital during the move so decided not to move.
  14. Ha, had a colonoscopy as well today... just had an enema they wanted to load two but with the second one my colon had a mind of its own
  15. My face is drenched in tears! Thursday night will bring a huge change. Doctor van Niekerk wants to remove the tumor from my colon and reverse the colostomy as he agrees that it was not necessary to be done. He might do the liver and spleen at the same time, but he first wants to open and start then will decide how to proceed! Thank you for all the support and help guys and girls! Now just the Pico prep to look forward to without an ass. All that coming out the colostomy! Fudge!
  16. Sorry, been a hectic day. Recovering from a scope after the doctor saw the results from the CT scan. He just wanted to make sure of the info from the CT. He just needs to double-check the CT report, then we might have a plan forward... Bad part, have the opportunity to move to another init in our estate. And we might be able to move before the end of the month.
  17. CT Scan on Monday morning 09h00 At least not an MRI.
  18. I am still waiting for my 13h30 appointment to see the doctor. Might be a long time to wait still.
  19. thanks KoukieYou are correct. Scheduled for 13h30 so expect to see the doctor anywhere from 15h00 if we are lucky. Will update with the news.
  20. Thanks will contact him and request his knowledge.Wish to one day be able to do that kind of distances
  21. Might be getting an electric scooter shop-rider to borrow till I can walk again. Not sure how I feel about the idea that I need to get a disability sticker for my car, and do not like the idea of a shop rider at all. 38 years old and I need a bloody shop rider to be able to move! And on antibiotics to be able to pee. Got another infection down there since yesterday and could not pee this morning without waking up the neighborhood.
  22. That is good news! Just hope the law will change in such a way that these guys are not busted and closed down. Getting 2000L per month will help a lot of people
  23. He is what is known as a Naturopathic oncology specialist. The good once are few and rare to get. You get a load of crap in the cancer world. From people scamming patients looking for alternatives to people selling snake oil. It is just like the CBD market... if you do not have the equipment to test the CBD oil, you never know what you are getting. Same with THC and weed in general. You have to trust the people you are getting the product from. I am going to try a product from Stemtech that is suppose to activate stem cells. The oncologist looked very suspicious about the product when I asked him if I can use it.
  24. Just got back from the oncologist. Suspended my chemo treatment for a week, and might suspend it for another depending on the state of my hands, feet and... penis. He is going to try and motivate another round of treatment of Avastin. But will wait to hear what the surgeon says. My cancer markers dropped again, so something is working. The last time my count was 12 or something. Got placed on anti depressants as well. Urbanol is not cutting it anymore. The biggest factor at this stage for it, is because I must stay off my feet. Even got recommended to use a wheelchair if possible. And I am not to walk barefooted. I must let my hands rest, no pressure on my hands if possible. So no cutting things with a knife, no using a screw driver and things that can rip the skin off my hands. I am no longer able to open my iPad wit my fingerprints, as I no longer have fingerprints. But on the upside, my beard is growing like there is no tomorrow, but must go if I go for the operation. Not 100% sure why, but there must be a reason
