Watched the final episode of Modern Family today. Wasn’t a huge fan of the show, was something to watch. But in 11 years the show started growing on me...

Started playing Euro Truck Sim 2 today. Forgot how boring game it is. Wanted to start up City Skylines but my mods is a mess and game had missing assets so just gave up on that. At least I finished reading a book.

This was Snowflake. A rescue we found in the estate two days ago. Sadly Snowflake was very sick and tired when we found her. The person who caught her placed her in a used soap bucket to add to the hits against her. Sadly she passed last night. We tried our best with the lockdown in place. Gave her food and water and some heat. She was a old bird, but I trust that she is in a better place now

Doing well thanks Robert.Been a hectic week, company I am contracting to had a very busy week with everyone needing notebooks. The virus is the last thing on my mind at this stage. Not going to let fear get to me. If this fight with cancer taught me one thing is not to give into fear!

Taking a bit of strain at the moment to be honest. The company decided to change the scope of my work, so doing the work of 3 people. I did injure myself again (where they operated on the liver) when I had to carry 3 24” screens for a kilometer to my car. And they just pile on the work because one guy drank the wrong pills and the other guys just do as they like and I have to go and mop up behind them. But other than the nagging injury to my right side that does not want to heal, things are going well. Going to Koro Koro this weekend with the folks (the got a free weekend there) so hope to have a restful weekend. Getting to be outside is much better than being inside. Just forgot how bright it can be and how fast sunburn can happen.

Some great news. The doctor wrote a letter to the medical aid explaining why the ablation of the cancer was done and why he did not cut part of my liver out. So the medical aid paid the almost R28000 for the procedure. Now the nerves are kicking in as the next operation looms in my future. Not something I am looking forward to in all honesty

Found out why my recovery was this quick. The Doctor did a microwave Ablation and could not cut the liver due to the proximity of a major vein. So only the 2.5cm lesion was cooked. That is also the R27000 that the medical aid does not want to pay. It still is a very tender area due to the 30cm + incision and the internal stitches that still remind me that they are there. Can’t wait to get on the bike again!

Yeah, the hospital knew I was going for a liver operation. AFAIK they always order blood for work on the liver. Will find out at the surgeon what can be done.

I viewed the items on the invoice and we charged emergency one way fee, emergency transfusion test and 2 units of blood No blood on returnable basis fees - This means any blood ordered without blood returnable basis fees(container) blood items will be charged even if they are returned within window period. Blood ordered with blood on returnable basis fees must be returned to us within 11hours For any other queries you can contact me Regards How the hell do these leaches think we know all the facts and procedures. We now paid a crap load of money for nothing. And I bet that the blood was used for someone else and invoiced.

Update: I am feeling very good. It is great not to be stuck at home the whole time. Still taking my anti depressants and almost off my pain meds. About 3 of the 7 nights I would take one pain pill (after a very long day in the car or if I had to pick up a lot of notebooks) Just have a nasty hole where the doctor started the cut for the liver resection (my own fault, not the doctors) so just have to tend to it and pick up less stuff. Again I have to thank my Hubber family for all your help, supports and prayers. Have one operation that I still need to book, but need to recover a little more before I go for the operation

Anyone who works for Momentum? They paid for a blood transfusion that I did not receive. So we told them we did not need the blood and the blood went back to the blood-bank. Now Momentum per e-mail said we must contact the service provider, get a letter and send it to Momentum. Like in what the hell! We pay them a premium and we need to do all the work?

Got a nasty surprise today. Momentum paid for a blood transfusion that I did not receive. They had the blood ready, but I did not need the blood, so the blood was returned to the blood-bank. Then we received a R27500 bill from the hospital, because momentum decided that a procedure that was done in theater will only be partially paid. We had authorized all the procedures. I had a barium x-ray done of my colon, in hospital pre-op R2609 that they took from our health saver. Momentum states that the amount of liquid was overused. This morning I hear the words in the corridor “is there enough work for François, or can I send him home...?” We spoke about some labour related matters and got the clear message that this week might be the last week. I am devastated to say the least. The one guy made an early return from sick leave so I am not needed anymore.

Watched Midway last night. What a movie! Sad to think of all the children that lost their lives for the war effort.

Hi Cat-iBandages has been removed. Have one little “hole” still draining. Struggling with severe upper back pain, but that will come right when my walking position is correct and not hampered by stitches. But I am blessed! I am alive. Spoke to a lady this morning in a shop. Her sister was taken by cancer. So there we both stood tears flowing from our eyes. Gave her a hug and then we both just started crying again. Her manager asked my wife what was going on and then understood what was going on. We do not know what impact this bastard (cancer) has on people. The lady lost 5 family members to it! I just hope that companies like CANSA uses the money they get to channel it to the correct places. Even though they could not help me, I hope they can help others!

Some good news. The company I worked for 8 years phoned me on Thursday. Their one tech went AWOL and the one tech had a test with his specialized against a car. So they needed someone urgently. So it is part time as they need my services. But it gets me out of the home and focusing on something else. I can’t wait to get the staples out on Monday as the bloody things and the seatbelt does not work well together. So a bit of good news for a Friday night

We watched Doctor Sleep yesterday. First movie that I did not fall asleep in. And liked how they fixed some of the inaccuracies of the Shining in the movie.

If it is a GeForce reinstall the drivers, but do a clean install of the drivers. Had a few problems with Windows 10 the past few days. Feel as though a reload is going to be the only solution

Deep cleaned (steam cleaned) my bathroom this morning. Anyone going for an operation, learn from my stupidity. One week is not enough time to heal to start a cleaning spree. 40% of the wound is bleeding. Cleaned the wound afterwards, but started bleeding again when I tried to get up from the bed after the cleaning. So kinda irritated with myself at the moment.
