  1. My dad had a operation last week on his prostate. They discovered 4% cancer cells. So they will do a MRI either later this year or early next year to give the gland a bit of healing time. So been a bit of a nasty week at the Marais house again

Humble Bundle has F1 2018 for free at the moment. Grab it if you like...
  3. my wife got hers. My medical expenses helped her to get a few Rands back. When I was retrenched the super taxed me to “hurt” me. So got a few rands back to pay off some of my medical debt as well. EDIT: Received my return. No Audit done as they always do... not on me or on my wife
  4. Must admit I have a long time addiction on NHK World especially Cycle Around Japan. I have a lot of respect for the Japanese people and would not mind working in Japan. It is the closest I can come to cycling at the moment, but have to wonder... how does it feel not to worry that some idiot is going to kill you for your bike or phone or R50 in your tool bag...

  6. We watched The Outpost last night. Powerful movie that did not need a ear shattering sound effect to announce the enemy like Greyhound did the whole movie. Tragic that a lot of kids lost it all because of some idiots making stupid choices. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt3833480/
  7. I am sorry to hear about Harvey. Not fun to loose a family member even if they have four paws. See it made the news... https://maroelamedia.co.za/nuus/sa-nuus/soektog-na-harvey-die-boelhond-eindig-tragies/
  8. We tried to watch First Cow the past weekend. Saw like 4 minutes and work up with the credits rolling. So the sleep rating is a solid 10/10. See the rating is very good on IMDB, but heck it was a slow and boring start to a movie https://m.imdb.com/title/tt9231040/

Bloody flippen Farming Simulator 19! Do not buy the game. You will invest a lot of time in the game without knowing it Played vanilla for about 30 minutes. Got bored and started downloading mods like crazy. Now 13 hours in on the game
  10. Thanks for the Shout out Brad980 Things are going well at the moment. Was told by the hospital admin that my surgery for this month will not happen. Will have to wait till Gauteng falls in the Covid arena. I must still see the oncologist next month, but every day is a worry. Every client visit the risk is always on my mind. I lost a friendship because the lady did not want to wear her mask around me. So I told her to stay away from me and my wife. We are both high risk people and she just decided that screening is enough reason not to wear a mask around me. But all in all, things are going well. Just sneezing and coughing hurts like nothing else I felt before
  11. We started watching Killing Eve on Tuesday. Where did I miss this stunning series!
  12. Gave this a spin... https://m.imdb.com/title/tt6398232/ Just a view on how treacherous ML schemes can be
  13. We watched Sick Note (both seasons) the past two weeks. A funny series. It is a little dark, but Nick Frost was doing a good job acting like a knob of a doctor
  14. Anyone following or reading this tread looking for a Commencal Frame (MTB 26") please contact me. We are moving out this weekend (I can no longer do stairs so found a place on the ground) but no longer have use (or space) for the 26" bike as my back no longer supports HT Riding. Collection of the frame in Pretoria will be needed
  15. [emoji26] one of my clients were diagnosed with cancer. She still has to go for a CT Scan. Her husband spoke to me this morning. It was very hard to hold back the tears as he lost his mother to cancer in January.
  16. The biggest enemy we all have is inside of us! That enemy is negativity.I still have lots to do and lots to see. I have not reached my dreams yet! It is like doing the Argus. Even though I only made it before my cutoff I made it, and enjoyed most of it, but I never gave up. There were some times where I had to walk and places where I had to wait for a few rocks to fall from Chapman’s. We can be down some days, but even when having death leaning at my bedroom door every day, we have to make a choice to beat death, and not to take the bony hand and follow him to the end.
  17. Funny that all the people returning to SA, and my brother will be leaving SA on Saturday to return to work
  18. Watched the series 3rd rock from the sun when I was a kid. Started watching it again tonight and a lot of sexual things that were lost on me as a kid
  19. With the current market to get a notebook is very hard work. They can range from R15000 to R45000 for a over the top system.
  20. i7 system with 16GB of RAM. If you are starting to look at Premier Pro chuck in a decent display card that can help with the load. Do not get 1050 though. Processing a 4K video on my notebook can take a very long time. Doing it on 1080p is a little better, but still takes a long time to encode. Intel has been pushing a lot of AI talk in the 10th Generation CPU SKU. They claim that it helps a lot with processing and workload. I have not tested a 10th Gen CPU yet. And will not be able to do so soon. I joined Team Red (AMD) but switched to a desktop for Post. Going to give Davinci a go as well as Adobe is not worth the money anymore. And will look for my Photoshop CS6 key to save a little bit (okay a lot)
  21. Started my Espresso machine for the first time in two years. Tried a decaf that I bought from SPAR. No coffee flavor at all. Was worried a bit. When I switched the machine on there was 0 steam pressure and the steam wand did not do anything. The pump also sounded a bit off. Had to run the brewer for a while and what looked like calcium came out. The pump started running normally and the steam wand started working. Was glad it started working. Nespresso can’t get close to a very good cup of Coffee.
  22. Just got back from the oncologist as a matter of fact (I told no one that I was going btw) It is a tears for joy situation today. I do not have to go back on chemo! I have not slept much for the past week or so. I was nervous and broke down in the office of my boss yesterday. And cried for about half an hour at the office this morning before the appointment. But the doctor said he sees no point in making me sick with chemo as all my results are very VERY good. So all in all, it is going very good. I have too see the surgeon in two months and the oncologist in three months. And thanks for checking up everyone. It means a lot to me and Reinet (my wife)

Decided after 45 minutes of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds that the game was not for me. Refunded via steam. Now looking towards age of empires two or starcraft 2. A little blast from the past.
  25. busy watching it now... the hand in the chest scene put my wife off her dinner (fish sticks and fries)She just took a bite of a fry when the scene happened. Was a bit to much for her. I do not think we youngsters know what war does to one. But as said... Amazing movie
