  4. Yep found my mule to be pretty bullet proof also got to remember the lifetime warranty on the bladder I just bought a rogue yesterday for my son for christmas (I also can use it for shorter rides when the mule is overkill) I just like the build quality of the camelbak
  5. Why would you want to mess around when the genuine Shimano ones are less than 100 rand from CRC? They have some nice discounts on some disc's at the moment have a look http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Categories.aspx?CategoryID=565
  6. SLX looks much nicer than the XT

  8. I think thats pretty shocking that they can have such a poorly designed sensor on an expensive product and if this has been the case why have Garmin not sorted it out in production I was just about to take the plunge on a 705 but looks like I must find out a bit more on the sensor issue first good informative post this

  10. Thanks for all the input and info guys the 705 edge looks like it will do everything I need and even a bit more I like the wireless cadence feature I like the longer batt life What would be the going rate if I want the HR and cadence bundle is R4400 about right? I see some adverts say basemap only? is this a problem does that mean I have to buy maps ?
  11. How much is that Nabraska?
  12. I would like to be able to plot my MTB rides and print them out I would like to be able to print a route profile for the same ride I want to see altitude/descent and ascent of my ride I want all the standard features on my normaal computer I have heart rate monitor but if I could have data on heartrate compared against profile of ride that would be nice Basically I want to get home load this on my pc so I can keep records of my rides and compare them over time If this can be user friendly to upload print etc that would be a bonus. What is my best option to give me this data any advice would be appreciated PS I dont have unlimited budget so should I say cost effective would also be nice
  13. I am also using a sigma 1106 DTS like Mampara said very easy to use 1 button to reset just hold it for a few seconds and all readings are reset and 1 big easy to hit button for your readings nice display as well I saw them at FPC for 650 today
  14. When I was chatting to my dad last night to tell him to expect a parcel he said I was lucky that the strike was over so I think it was sorted yesterday?
  15. I have been told by 2 people now how much better their bikes gears shifted after fitting the XTR cable set. Is this because this cable set is better or is it mostly just due to the new clean cables and sleeves I see Shimano say the inners have a special coating on them are they worth fitting as I can get a complete set for 220 rand I was interested to hear feedback on these after being used for a while but for so cheap I will prob just get them anyway

    Chain

Going to buy a new (spare chain) Currently running a HG73 Chain reaction has 50% off so at 160 bucks its a steal The HG93 is only 60 bucks more at 220 is it worth it or should I just stick to the 73 as I cant find any info on the benefits of the 93 Bear with me on the questions my cousin did ask what he could bring with him when he comes out from UK so its shopping time at CRC

    Disc's

I am fitting new disc's and was just going to fit 160's again but I like the idea of running bigger on the front for better temp less fade etc I decided on the XTR discs (look good as well ) and thought I would stick a 203 on the front and a 180 on the back apart from the 40 grams weight diff is there any other disadvantage to doing this or is it overkill? My shock can run 210's I will get the shimano adapters at the same time and continue with slx calipers. Any info appreciated before I place the order Thanks
  18. I see the last round of the Nissan series is from Van Gaalens so I would expect we will get to ride the new bits in this race?

  20. Or you could leave the bragging rights buy XT's and use all the money you saved to buy some other fancy parts
  21. I ordered a Fizik Gobi last Thursday from CRC took standard cheapest post option popped by post office today to see if it had arrived and it was there had been for a couple of days only paid 111 rand tax as well so total cost was less than 1100 rand Did try 3 closest shops to me first but prices were from 1975 to 2250 scary difference
  22. Depending what size you wear Due South often have sales but only on the small sizes (30 inch) where they sell the fox shorts for 299 when they are normally 545 I check each weak in the hope of a pair of 34's but so far no luck Cape Storm have a sale on in Clearwater mall I picked up 2 pairs of Cape storm Shorts (not baggys) for 693 for both this weekend they are very nice for the price
  23. Will be a nice final warm up for cradle quest hope my arse can survive the 6 hrs
  24. I really thought the route today was good lots of tracks I have never ridden or knew about I think the organisers did really well to give us some up and downs on what is a relatively flat section of land and kept the ride interesting It really exceeded my expectations First time I have ridden 70 km plus though and boy am I raw need to get some better shorts or saddle or both because last 25kms were very unpleasant on my delicate regions
