  1. My bullet proof Mercury 2
  2. just out of interest why did you switch from the fox to the Reba?
  3. Here is a nice link so you can see all 4 and what they do and dont do WW you spot on that there are 2 versions of the poploc the one with the dial is poploc adjust http://www.sram.com/rockshox/category/206
  4. Thanks Stewie FD is a 34.9 dual pull as per SC site so got that sorted. My current alloy bars are cut to about 635 which is about spot on for me the Truativ is 640 but the Richeys are 660 which with bar ends is too wide I dont know if you can cut back carbon bars thats why I was going with The Truativ's because of length. PP I have the XT's at the moment so was happy to use them but agree a wheel upgrade would be nice but budget would not stretch to new wheels as well at this point so could always change in a few months (plus they are black and silver which was a bonus ) I rode Sram now when in UK it is really nice and precise I was impressed but fact that I had the almost new XTR rear already and I did miss the 2 way shift of the shimano tilted the scales back to Shimano (plus saved on cost because dont have to buy rear der) Thanks so much for the comments and thoughts I will def post a pic when she is built up.
  5. Thanks Goodbadugly
  6. Please have a look below and see if you think I am on the right path with this build the items in Black I already have so cant be changed but all items in red can still be changed if something else would be better or more suited. Also I am trying to keep it looking nice (colour wise) around the Black/Silver SC frame so it doesnt look like a mix and match. Thanks Crasher
  7. Thanks WW good info As I said only reason I was going with the SID was because I need the silver/black As you say I dont see why it should have issue's with 32mm stanchions thats all I was really worried about. I weigh 75kgs so I am not a lightweight but I am sure SID would be up to that I am currently using a 2009 Recon SL air which I think is great I love this fork so if the SID can just be as good as that I would be quite happy. I always have *** when I want to order stuff
  8. No more feedback would be great to hear from a few who are using the SID
  9. I was buying a Reba Race dual air fork from CRC which now when I place order is unavailable I need it in black/silver to match frame Their Reba Teams are in red and white so I am stuck there as well They have Sid Race dual airs in stock in silver and black I know early sids had narrower stanchions and flexed These have 32mm same as Reba how does the sid compare to the Reba This is in 100mm travel and is going on a Santa Cruz Blur XC carbon would appreciate any input good or bad on going with the sid
  10. Good bike and good value for money thats the 2009 in your pic. 2010 they called it merc 1 and gave it an XT crankset and the old merc 1 became the XTR. Judging by the amount of people riding Silverbacks at most races I would say they are pretty popular and lots of people buying their lower spec models as there first bike to get into the sport. Maybe I am biased because I ride one
  11. Cajee's on Ontdekkers also changed by Sweep on the spot gave me one out of their stock and said they will sort it out with agent.
  12. I was also wondering as I am really keen to get a Zula but now wonder if I should wait and see. I want the white and red do you think there would be a chance on a better price on the white red 2010 once 2011 comes out?
  13. Been riding a mercury for the last 14 months great bike no problems If you want good spec and value for money I dont think you could beat the mercury 1 for 16500 plus Silverback give great aftersales service.
  14. I have recieved 5 or 6 parcels this way never had a hassle and times were best 6 working days worst was I think 9. Thats to my PO Box in JHB
  15. while on garmin site it showed new software for my edge 500 I did the update it said 100% complete but then bought up an error screen I tried it 3 times it always has the same error at the end Anyway disconnected it took it outside and it said found new software version etc and it updated itself I had to re enter my user data and re set up my data screens (thought it would of kept this?) Went around the block seems to be working fine and uploads all data But if I go on garmin site it stills says new software available it looks like the error at the end maybe stops the recognition of the new software? If I look on the unit itself it says software version as 2.30 if I look at my download from yesterdays fast and furious it says next to mt edge 2.9.0.0 The one today after the update shows 2.29.0.0 If some one could check their edge and see there versions they could put my mind at ease that it is correct as I hate errors when changing software Thanks
  16. Sidi But if you can fit them both on to make sure you are happy I tried a few diff shoes before I bought Sidi's the fit is excellent and they feel great on the bike

  18. Anyone riding a 2008 or 2009 if so would like some thoughts on the bike Thinking of getting a 2009 frame to build up Thanks This frame below http://fisherbikes.com/images/fisherbikes/bikes/2009/640x400/supercal.jpgcrasher2010-06-07 02:01:32
  19. I rode the shorter distances last year and the seeding worked pretty well in the latter races the first race was a bit of a disaster Doing the longer series this year and got an E seeding for this first round I would assume after you put in a good or bad performance they will update your seeding for the second race based on your performance If I had to seed myself I would of prob given myself an E anyway
  20. I had no problem with the "youngsters" leading the 45 passing me they made themselves heard I got out the way they were polite said thanks and those first few were really flying Cant believe such a polite young gentleman would refer to us as old farts

  24. During Honda trophy today had funny noise at rear and back wheel was out of true (did not hit anything) Checked now noise was from broken spoke rattling against sprocket These are standard factory XT wheelset Heres is the question the rims are about a year old and have done alot of riding not on the best lines either but untill today were still running true CRC list no spokes for shimano rim? Should I just replace broken spoke or is this a sign that more could break and rather change them all thats first question Please I need some advice ofrom the wheel experts on what my best choice is and I fly to the UK on tuesday so if there are spares I need from there I need to know before I leave as I can bring them back with me please help thanks crasher
