I have wanted these for a while finally bit and bullet and got myself a set of Shamal Ultra's Had the 4000s and tubes in my cupboard for a while waiting for these. First time I have bought campag wheels very impressed with the build quality and looks just need to ride them now. Bike also went under 7.5kgs now including pedals garmin and cages

last year was 121.4 kms with 937m of climbing

Climb is not as bad as it looks on the profile nice race hope to be recovered by next week to ride it 92.97 km with 1037m of climbing

Well yesterday whilst we were riding a Taxi decided I was too slow so hit me from behind. Was quite an interesting experience to one second to be peddalling and the next to be flying through the air. I had a lovely landing on my lower back. Firstly I realise the importance of riding with a friend when you get hit. He arranged everything for me including collecting the bike etc. ADT were excellent the Police were efficient and the ambulance people were great. I went to Mill park got off lucky with nothing broken but very sore and bruised today. Few things I have learned from yesterday. Carry your medical aid card they would not take me to x ray untill my wife arrived with medical aid card. Mavic wheels are F**king strong although buckled beyond repair the entire impact was absorbed through the rear wheel and it still maintained its shape. Bell sweep did its job and only after seeing how it was crumpled did I realise that I would of had a pretty bad head injury without it. I phoned Dial Direct today and although this bike is not one I have specified cover they will cover the replacement of the wheels my helmet and saddle which looks to be all that was damaged. I got off Lucky now just need to get better quick so i can ride again !!

Yes I want to I have done the last 3 and wanted to do all 5 leading up to the 300 in October. I think though that its the EPR race on the Saturday so dont know if I will cope with a 120km race on the Sat and then the 200 on the Sunday so might have to choose one or the other or maybe I must just HTFU

F Tech kit but had the yellow windbreaker over and was riding the Scott What kit were you in ?
