Haha I've also had an incident like this before, except that I went around two loop-de-loops to get off and on the highway at 120 again I wish my car actually had that much grip. Disclaimer though, you had two other incidents for what I can see. If it was only the single "false" speed reading, you would have been fine. For the most part I don't have any issues any more, the more you learn about how the system works the more you adapt to it. Does not prevent idiots from parking their cars in front of you and you having to hit the brakes, hard. But then ensure you don't have any other offences during the trip and you'll still be fine. What I hate though is having to climb on the anchors when the light turns orange. You're always second guessing yourself about, oh, smokes, will I get penalised for this now. Instead of damn I need to stop it's the right thing to do.

Last part sums it up for me. It was so so so long winded, and in the end didn't really tie things together. I don't understand the point of the AI computer either. What cosmic connection did Owen and Annie actually have? Meh. I don't know. I wanted it to be better than it actually was.

Honestly, why that pattern isn't the norm (it used to be way way back) totally baffles me. The day I switched it on the racebike was the last time I rode a motorcycle with it the normal way. It's just better. Plus, a quickshifter and a tap tap tap through the gearbox is win, and, the Triple has so much torque that you never really need first gear.

We haven't ridden at Klapperkop for quite a while now, partly because of the security issues, and mostly because we have moved from the area, but the biggest benefit was the fact that we could go for a quick 90 minute ride there after work, which meant we were often there until after 6pm in the summer. That was great, and I would imagine a lot of people would like to still have that as a possibility.

Yeah holy smokes it was a good race. It was great seeing the lighter blue bikes in the mix as well. And ditto, MM needs to stop the shenanigans, it doesn't really work if it's forced. I do however think he didn't expect to win this race, so there might have been a bit more adrenaline than expected. Also, what in the world is going on at Yamaha. This is not a quick fix issue either. I have to wonder about Rossi, he has always said as long as he remains competitive and the motivation is there, he will race, but after the last 23 races, are both those elements still present? I hope they can turn things around sooner, rather than later.

Is there a way to enable this on the Disco site? I've been looking (not very hard), but couldn't seem to find it. I've been putting it in my own "excess account", but the benefit is larger when you do it via Discovery.

What Frosty said. I think they use both the accelerometer of both the tracker and the phone and compare the data. If the phone moves similar to the car, then there is no issue, but if the phone is moving differently, it picks it up. So pretty much any time that the phone is being used in your hand, it will know. I have an airvent cradle in my car as well, and for the most part it doesn't detect any motion as it's moving the same as the car, even if I'm interacting with maps for example. I can take calls via the car's bluetooth and there's no issues either. I can use OK Google to send commands as well. But don't hold the phone in your hand and use it whilst the car is moving and it will flag you immediately. And it's not even reducing from 5 to 4 stars, it just goes to 1 star immediately. It has really discouraged use of my phone whilst I am driving, and that is a great thing. What IS annoying though, is when anyone else uses your phone whilst you are driving, and then detects that as phone motion, which is totally and utterly ridiculous, and there's no way to work around it.

Yeah for sure. I realise that I've also become much less impatient and frustrated whilst driving. I just get totally effed off when someone does something stupid in front of me and I need to slam on the brakes. That's pretty much the only time I get knocked down by Discovery. I pretty much never exceed the speed limit now (although there are some questionable times where the app says I've sped, but I know for sure I haven't), harsh acceleration never happens, neither does phone use. It definitely had a positive effect on my driving.

That was actually at a track day, and he was on trial in Florence for attempted manslaughter. Can't find what the judgement was, but obviously it didn't succeed as he's racing in the EWC.
