Yup, anther reason why some could choose disk over v is the buckled wheel factor, but then if you buckle your wheel regulary you either need new wheels or better MTB skills.

Would have been my choice, having disk and v brake bikes i find the only time disk's trump v's is when its particulary muddy and wet, for anything else if you clamp your brake hard you will come to dead stop whether you have v's or disk.

Cycling twice, once during the Argus when it was particulary hot i drank too much liquid to comepensate for the heat, i ended up over hydrated and flat on my back at a medic tent for about 2 hours , 2nd was this years Kremertart where i donated blood a few days before the race.

The only MTB race i know in Gauteng done by ether Racetec or CC is the Crater Cruise and that is CC, most use SS or manual timekeeping.

I think they should make Malmema's matric achievements the benchmark, then there would be a far higher pass rate.

You can be how good a MTB'er but it will be a dead cert you will take a tumble sometime, chances might be that the rider has even done the section before.

I had a DRC rim with DT Swiss spokes built for me last year (non tubeless) and have had no issues so far.
