For an organization thats SO big on freedom of choice they will kill off any competition from other timing companies like Championchip and SAS etc. All races will now become Racetc or they wont be recognized, where does this leave race like Kremertart, Bela Bela, Carnival. I pay R75 total to race any race i want, PPA want something like R225 and then i have to conform to their rules and regulations NO THANKS.

Did you have issues with TDF ? They not my regular LBS but have had work done there and no complaints. My regular is FL in Glen Marais, but you can also go to Bike Scene in Nigel Road Springs, the owner (Riaan) is ex TDF and knows his stuff .

Nice list but a number of the Gauteng races such as D2D, R4V, Berg & Dale, Wilro used to be Championchip, however as PPA/Racetec/Argus would not recognize them as as seeding, despite being tougher than Argus, they've been forced to switch. The 94.7 followed last year and excluded all races other than Racetec despite using them previous years.

From the Argus website, agree that NO other race is this a requirement. 2.13 A rider must participate with a timing identification and shall not ride with another rider’s number or timing identification without adhering to the substitution procedure referred to in clause 1.4 above. Huh ?? says who and why must it be Racetec? Cool if you happy, keep PPA in WC though. Not interested in all the politics, i ride any event i want whether sanctioned or not. The Argus is the only race in SA where you MUST have a Racetec chip. I do more Championchip and SAS timed races than Racetec which we would be forced to use. The PPA seeding is of no use to me due to the incestuous relationship of PPA/Racetec. I'm funny that way in that i like freedom of choice.

Good to know if PPA did take over CSA, they will apply their anti competitive idea of ONLY using Racetec for races and everyone that did not belong to them will not to get results even if they had racetec chips.
