  1. Yeah, in spite of the cost of living it is still popular.
  2. I have been using this since the first post went up alerting us to the mobile site's existence. Works well on my BlackCherry browser, but the login/forum blue box on the top right does not appear when I try Opera. Two enhancements I would like to see are (1) who posted last and (2) a link to go to the last post and not just the last page. Other than that, I am lying in the bath posting this. Brilliant!
  3. Thank goodness your cheese is grated and not cut. Phew! I cannot stand being lied to least of all by sales people (used to be one). I expect good service and I will compliment the person who gives me great service: to be fair, I will also tell the person who gives me shoddy service to call the Manager/Owner for me. When parts get superseded, and the new items are cheaper then you need to make the old stock more attractive or you will wind up with your very own museum because no one will buy them.
  4. Two things I did not know: (1) George Michael is a cyclist (2) His Hub Nic seems to be MJ loves MTB.
  5. I nominate this post for "Random Post of the Year" with an alternative nomination for "Thread Hijack of the Year" It is too "out there" to be a mistake. It must be brilliant Hubbing at it's best!!!!!!!!
  6. Scotty, are you taking over from Contimental? No man!
  7. Baas Teds. Bloody Agents.
  8. Btw T-girl, welcome to the Roadies! Wise choice if ever there was one!
  9. Another thing, a sample of 500 is 0.00116279% of the total population. Can the Statisticians please tell me what a representative sample should be? Lies, damn lies and then you get statistics.
  10. Hey, Puncture Girl, I am with you. I am still fat as well and I am trying my damndest. BMI? What a load of drivel. It is not based on body type at all and does not differentiate between skinny, medium and large build. The last time BMI said I was "healthy" was when I was in std 4. Pfft. Tell me a that BMI works for Mr Fordyce as well as a body builder of the same height and I will laugh at you. I have always been stocky (now I am about 10 kg overweight) but BMI says I was obese. All generalisations are false!!!!! Even this one.
  11. Good to hear you are okay-ish. Your comment above leads me to ask you to check for concussion Slave, a couple or so pages ago you were talking about trucks and getting a bit close. I just came down Atlas Road in Boksburg and sweet Jemima those beasts are waaaay to close for comfort. I am using a second hand Sele Italia SLX (from SpeadFreak) and now I have to change it - terrible sewer type smell and the white colour has been changed to a dark beige. Once again Captain Dura, aces that you are okay (pun intended)
  12. You know what I am going to say now, don't you Oom Manbeervark?
  13. Well done and well demonstrated. You are, of course, entirely correct. About the snooze fest I mean .....
  14. I thought this was more of an oral question. Jemima (the African swallow) is generally more rounded in appearance to the skinnier European swallow (Anika). Are you trying to use up your Google credits?
  15. I love your signature. I in fact love cats, especially with a nice sweet and sour sauce.
  16. Fank you. Sorry to be incorrect. See, that is another reason why I luuurve The Hub - always someone to help you out.
  17. Ah, the meaning of life! Douglas Adams is never wrong!
  18. This to cheer you lot up: Employee phones his boss at 08:00 and says he cannot make it in to work because he is sick. "How sick are you" asks the boss. Employee answers "I am in bed with my sister- is that sick enough for you"
  19. This is a guy who understands nothing about sales or he is under pressure to meet target. I also take my time and enquire, ask questions (even Google at times) before making a purchase. Those that are impatient before the sale tend to be so much worse after the sale. I would rather deal with someone who is there to assist me instead of someone who just wants my money.
  20. Seems to me there a fewer "yuppies" in cycling than I thought. Nice to see the niche market is really niche.
  21. To respond to an earlier post about "you obviously have not run your own business" or some such drivel, I have not run my own business either. However, I do insist that any business makes a profit - I need you to still be around to honour warranty claims and sell me more stuff. What I do have an objection to is making a killing off every sale that you make. So, when someone over charges you, please let me know and similarly when you get a good deal also pass that on. I may not run my own business, but it is MY money and I will spend it where I feel I get the best value for it. So you spend time in the evenings trying to make a success of your business. Good for you. These are the same people who say that teachers, nurses and other civil servants should stop whining about their pay and get other jobs. Right back at ya sunshine! Running a business is all about risk and reward. No one is forced to start up a company. However, not having the necessary equipment to manufacture my own bearings / toaster / curling tongs I am forced to purchase such items from people who do run their own businesses. I will support the company that suits my needs without any remorse for the hours you put in or the risk you have taken. Amen.
  22. I agree they might not last as long, but will they last 6 times longer? If they do, then you are all square cost wise.
  23. I think I still have a photo of her somewhere......
  24. Amen and +1 I fully agree with this statement. The customer is king. He may not always be right, but he is none-the-less king.
  25. My reason to quit is that no one takes me seriously.
