  1. Kenda Nevegal. The tubeless is heavy at about 770g, but they have a nice tread.
  2. Buy tools from Johan. Free marketing and bump. But seriously, Johan Bornman knows his stuff and gives great advice.
  3. Hi Luan. Do you use mapmyride to map your rides. I currently use it and upload gps tracks created with my cellphone.
  4. Thanks bra Looks like its me and you against the rest for now
  5. Not saying the cyclist was right, and I would never say/do something like that. I usualy just throw my arms in the air and give my "what the hell did you just do" look. But what if maybe just maybe the cyclist got cut off, he tell the motorist to look where she's going. Then she tells him, that next time she will take him out and then he came and told her the same. I am fairly sure this didn't happen, but just illustrating that there are two sides to a story.
  6. Wish I could do training camps on a regular basis here. Lots of mountains. Some that will make you wish you were at suikerbossie We are actually thinking of building a few cabins for guys to come and stay. Will give hub specials. Also have a piece of unoccupied land with an old church on it, about 7km into the baviaans. Will try to organize something for December maybe for guys to come and camp there if they'd like. (Maybe for free)
  7. And a little bit of Baviaanskloof this morning To think I traded all of this for Gauteng
  8. Awesomeness on our farm next to Baviaanskloof
  9. Look at slick. Saw them at cape argus expo. They have a seemless bib for around R2800 I think. Anybody use these. I got a jersey from them and really like the material.
  10. What about the issua with kenda not being able to tack some kinds of slime. Kenda spesifically states that one should not use slime in the tubeless tyres, but it is only slime containing some ingredient.(Can't remember which one) I've been using Stans sealent in my Kenda Nevegals for 2 weeks now.
  11. Think it's individuals only yes.
  12. then cut them shorter untill they feel right. Little bit at a time
  13. Come ride Botha Laan in Centurion and we can exchange tubes in the future
  14. Don't think you can really compare a polar to a garmin with pros and cons. You can google the pros and cons of each, or you can ask which would be better for the kind of riding you do. If you're a triahtlete then I'd go with the s725x. Haven't used any of them, but everone complains about the edge 305. Lots and Lost and Lots of problems. If only for cycling, then the edge 500 is a popular choice nowadays.
  15. Shame on them bra. Can't believe people are like that. If it was a dodgy area and you looked suspicious then I can understand. I always ask if someone needs help when I pass them standing on the side of the road.
  16. At the moment yes. I'll team up if you keen
  17. Luan, look at the Honda Trophy. www.mountain-trophy.co.za. Think I'm gonna do it
  18. Was thinking exactly the same thing. Not always easy to find a partner of similar fitness/goals or not easy finding a partner overall. There's also the Honda Trophy in gauteng that's individual. It's the first weekend in May. 2 day stage race. 80km and 40km. Think I'll do that one as a first.
  19. Agree with you guys. Everything the same. Just different starts. You don't want to lose someone's admiration for you when they hear you didn't do the complete/real cape epic.
  20. Specs look alright for first bike. My first one was kinda the same. I've bought lots of stuff on the hub, but the expensive ones I went to pick up myself or asked someone to pick it up. There's a lot of scammers out there, so make sure you have enough detail of the guy or if he's on the hub you can see if someone maybe knows him or something.
  21. Also saw that yesterday. Quite keen. A stage race where you can go home after the first stage. Would be nice as my first one.
  22. Sorry for my double post. Was typing a bit slow
  23. Chain life depends on how you maintain your chain. It can last 500km or it can last 10000km if you take really good care of it. Don't know the difference between SLX and XT casettes, but the xt casette has about 4/5 fixed "gears", and the other 4/5 gears are removable. Don't think people change out individual gears though. You do that with your chainrings. If you have slx groupset, then xtr would be overkill. You can also look at SRAM casettes. Oh yeah, make sure that your gears are tuned. Is the new chain the same length as the old one?
