  1. Likewise... I mean i let road a couple of years back, if i could afford both i would but MTBiking is getting a bit overrated and to commercial ... Road biking in the old days (1990-2004 ish) used to be huge fun! RABUBI: I Always have a drink in hand haha just joking..
  2. Felt F4 Carbon. Ultegra grouppo. Time iclic peddals Ritchey wcs hbar evo curve/c260 stem Race one cages Selle Italia SLS saddle K@k Shimano Rs20 wheels 7.8kg Cost new R27000 (not what i paid) R3461.5 If i tell you what it cost me youll hate me for it!!
  3. So I thought id find out whats going on with all the roadies. I mean i know the roads aren't safe but i think it all depends on where you ride... I think we should get road cycling back to the glory days... Track cycling as well...

  5. GOT WHITE MAVIC"S LOVE EM.... it also forces you to keep them clean
  6. Back to the Q. the reason why you pay R220 a bearing is because MAVIC uses qrm bearings, they are defferent from the ones at brm... but the ones at bearing man should work fine... QRM bearings are just made specifically for Mavic wheels. but jip.. did my own ones the chaep way... i cant afford QRM
  7. check on the bottom of your shock on the rebound side. take out the reboud adjuster and use a 5mm allen key try to tighten this if it is loose this might be the cause of your problem... but you might have lost some oil.. so better send it back to where it was serviced and have them check it again
  8. On the team you have a blackbox motion control, this allows for dual rebound .. you can read up about this on SRAMS WEBSITE... if you close floodgate your shock should lock out... but there must be some play... also when you sit on your bike your shock should suspend about 20% so check your presure
  9. Okey... there is another thing.. on a road pedal your surface is bigger which means that you have got better support when pedaling... dont know if everybody will agree with me but... go look at some cheap road pedals om sure you will benefit
  10. Sounds like the damper is loose..... if this is the case maybe you should also make sure there is enough oil left in the damper upper tube. and in the lowers! Also if there is not enough oil in the rebound shaft the damper will not function correctly.... im not a shock expert... but this is what i can collect from the given info! Good luck
  11. back to the question... yes you can use non-tubeless tyre for tubeless but the problem is the sidewall is thinner. In essence you have to run higher pressure than you would on tubeless tyres , and sidewall punctures are allot more likely when you run non-tubeless! thats the basic! good luck! btw not sure how 29er would react to non tubeless...mhmmmm? interesting!!!
  12. By the way... i forgot to mention the fork... SR SUntour makes a pretty decent air shock for cheap.. bout R1800 the epicon or raidon.... id upgrade that after wheels and crank! youll have a pretty decent Saturn then!
  13. Upgrading the saturtn is difficult be careful you dont spend to much on the bike... Dont spend more than you paid for it, and if you do, try to keep the original parts so that you can put them back on the bike when you decide to sell it for a new bike or frame... note i said WHEN... you Will eventually want to upgrade with a new frame and saving the old parts means you can sell the old bike and start building up a dream bike... but to the topic.. if i were you id start with the heaviest parts! eg: Wheels, Crank, Seatpost, Seat , Handlebars etc in that order... Mavic makes some nice Crossride wheels, they weigh less and have sealed bearings, the cost bout R2500, then try installing an hollowtech 2 crank. Deore ones cost roughly R990, installation will differ, make sure the face the frame, otherwise your new bearings will be shot pretty soon! the rest you can just upgrade as you go on! Happy Riding!
  14. Go to park tool's website. also youtube! they show some nice vids on all the how to's........ MAKE SURE YOU USE MINERAL OIL!
  15. Hey! heres a thought, maybe your Bike store is not communicating with you... Ialso have a frame claim, omnico immediately told the bike store that stock is only due the second week in August, and maybe they never sent the helmet in for replacement, my experience with them is very good... !
  16. First ascent's evolution is now called revolution and has been improved!
  17. You can try Cyclesure! they are very good and cover 4 everything! That is the insurance side... ride with a 45. magnum or a flair gun, better yet, they sell quite aggressive Rotweilers here in RSA! (just kidding) there are some cellphone services that provides location tracking!
  18. KCNC pully wheels works great! A for Away!
  19. I agree, i can see that you are disappointed, but everybody is bad mouthing SingleTrack which is not fair, you are not here to sort this out, secondly, i think you ware looking for advice not bad comments for the shop, even though disclaimers state you leave your bike there @ own risk this is a disappointed for the both of you so give them a chance to figure it out! STRONGS TO THE BOTH OF YOU!
