  1. R784.89 for that?!?! then you need to buy a battery also and import.... I always say get a light that is designed for what you want to do. if you want to cycle get a cycle light. need a torch get a torch. why not this http://www.extremeli...hray-5000-lumen? then you get a 4 bay charger that can charged anything and 3 batteries and a torch that doubles as a weapon. with 5 time the amount of light.
  2. Maglite aren't on the same scale as this type of light. just saying https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/116924-extreme-lights-pyro-lights-groupon-deal/page__pid__1686835__st__176?do=findComment&comment=1686835
  3. Well just don't do what everyone does the first time they get this type of light. DO NOT LOOK IN TO IT!!!! The light you are getting is pretty bright but basic and I can tell you that once you pop you can't stop.
  4. We are om 499 likes.... how cool
  5. Wow, 36 likes in one day. That is a record I believe. I must have done something right.
  6. I got a complaint today. We lend a unit out for a demo ride and he notices that the light dims about 1h30 in to his "ride". The reason why that happens is because the light protect it self when it overheats. Very view other lights have this protection. Just to clarify All Pyrolights have thermal protection. If it kicks in it means you need to stop chit chatting and start to cycle. Not having this protection will result in a major reduction in the life time of the LED. One more reason why you should enter this competitions
  7. how does the Aston Martin look that comes with this bike?
  8. strobe is useful if you want to be seen, for example if you are commuting. I hate it also that there is a SOS mode and I don't think strobe should be part of the normal mode cycle.
  9. This is the chance to voice your opinion about the flash/strobe mode on a cycle light. Magicshine asked me if it is needed so let hear it. what do you think? At the moment the Pyro2000/Maigchsine MJ880 does not have a flash/strobe mode. it has 5 level setting that can be changed using the plus and minus buttons.
  10. Well I am sorry for your loss. My wife wedding ring got stolen by our cleaner and now she is taking us to the CCMA for unfair dismissal. So i will have to pay her 2 weeks pay. now that's sour grapes.
  11. how accurate is the "Find My Ipad"? i had TecTrac on my phone but it was only about 10-30m accurate. So no real use if the phone was in a building complex. or a multi story flat.
  12. sliding your bike looks cool but that is about it. It is very likely that you will be off balance when you exit and then will require some effort before you really can put in power. If you are under control then you can start powering 3/4 of the turn.
  13. this is tricky. the answer to your question will changed depending who the rider is. If it is my wife i would agree with the chirpy biker. If you don't have fine control then in all likely hood there will be some nosediving. Her intent is to get through the turn. in one peace. not to the be the fastest. For me the aim is to control the speed before i get in to the turn and then power out. The idea is to use the maximum amount of traction for chaining direction not braking. You can control your speed during the turn with the rear and front brake but by then it is to late to really brake.
  14. where did it happen?
  15. I must admit that if someone gave me all that info I would have not given it a second thought,. gone mula
  16. now this is what a call a scam, well spotted
  17. Thank you petatodd. Yes this was a first attempted that went kind of pear shape. My heart was and is to prevent people from thinking there buying one thing and then getting some thing else. Pyro is build around the 4000K light concept. Where extremelight is low cost good value lights. Some people can afford to by the best the newest where others just want a light that works and allows them to train in winter. Pyrolights come with a years warranty and Extremelights with 90days. All these lights are good for what there use are. Not everyone can afford a +R1000 light.
  18. I admit I should have thought this thru better. I just wish people would read this much before buying. I mean on the add there where different links and names and the description where very clear. Only part about that chould have been better was title and the intro paragraph. Regarding brand. No one will expect to get the same warranty on a Ledlenser as you would on a leatherman. Or if you like flur de cap and you buy tassenberg then you will not expect the same. It will be much more confusing if pyrolights starts to sell normal lights also with different warranty.
  19. Sure, the holding company is called Organico Engineering Consulting CC. Pyrolights and Extremelights are Brands. Not companies. Same as ledlenser and lethermen. Or same as Two Oceans, Tassenberg, flue de cap, JC le Roux and many more are brands from Distell. Still confused?
  20. the intend was not to mislead anyone. And I never lied. I just don't want people to expect the same from both brand and would rather keep it separate. That is what happend. I tried my best to make it very clear for people buying that the two brand lights are different by giving it different brand names. I did not see the advert until it launch and when I did i had it changed as soon as possible. I did every thing i can to help Caerus even tough he should have read the advert before buying. The person who complied the advert was not present at the meetings nor did they consult me. I did not want people to buy a standard light expecting it to be a 4000K Magicshine manufactured light which at the end is what happened.
  21. Are you two still wondering? I said so many times. Pryo and Extremelights have the same holding company but they have are diffident brands, difrent manufacturer. Pyro is height quality 4000K lights. Extreme lights are value for money light. PS. thanks for pointing out the spelling.
  22. Last year when i got the MJ872 as a sample it came with a frosted glass and a 4 cell battery. It did not impressed me for those two reasons. Subsequently it became possible to order it with a clear glass and 6 cell battery. That addressed the reasons very well. In retrospect I should have given it a second change, and after seeing what a huge differences it makes with your light it gained my respect. My major irritation with it then was the excessive amount of spill and minimum throw . clearly the issue was the frosted glass. I don't think i will start to stock the MJ872 because the Pyro1500 is a very good mach for it. The larger 12 die Cree MT-G LED that it use don't have the same small hot spot as the Pyro1000. I also do believe the MJ880/ Pyro2000 is a good balance between the flood and spill and therefore a perfect all rounder. Sadly I did not send the Pyro1500 for review, in my option it is by far the best of the lights sold by Pyrolights for MT Biking specifically.
  23. I emailed the a few months ago and never got a response. I was and is hoping some one know someone there that I can contact. I am talking about bicycling mag za
