  2. if you say you don't know if it has helped, do you mean you never had a puncture? or you get them and have to plug a lot? if it is the first then I say it has been working very well. just go riding with someone that has tubes and you will start to notice the differences. I can't see how the UST will seat on the rim if there is no sealant in the the first place. If you want to go lighter then use less sealant and replace it more frequently. Most people uses way to much.
  3. rule of thumb is when sticks start to poke holes in i'm, or when the nobs are running flat in the middle, I dont DH but love the look of it on my SJ so got Kings 2.4 front ant Maxx 2.2 back. I find that the Kings 2.4 looks smaller than the originally 2.3 the SJ had on. I always wondered why. next front will be a Maxxis Minion DHF EXO Tire 2.5
  4. ish!!! there goes my Cell C Data coverage...

  6. Ok I give. what does this do? It looks like a front wheel but that is a rear shock and what up under the steering stem?
  7. No. it is R3000 + vat. You need to by the stand and then makup the rest of the order with stuff you don't really need. sounds like the Buy more save more deals....
  8. hay walkerr, any updates yet? what are you plaing to buy?
  9. This is true!!! "Do not increase mileage by more than 10% a week (rule of thumb)"
  10. I like my Tri-suit, just feels right If peeing is not an issue for you with a bib then a good tri-suit will not be a problem. I have a 2xU and not having to worry about how it sit during the race is really worth it. really peeing is not a problem. That is if you are a man. I suggest the tri-suit because you have small pockets that you can put stuff in, it is very comfortable to swim in and run and cycle with. if you are build like the hulk then it is not going to work but most tri-suits are very stretchy so it does not bother. Jut need to find the one that fits.
  11. This topic is worth R500,000 per year in time spend I think this is the bigest joke yet. I worked out that the 11460 post and 739964 views sums up to about 3300 concentration hours. if you could sell that for R150 per hour that is R500,000 per year. And that does not include the time it took the make the material that is posted here. amazing http://www.blake.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/200_south-african-rand1.jpg
  12. 11,376 replies 735,886 views where do you people get all this!!! I took me like all morning just to get to page 50 and there is +700 pages
  13. just go to work 1h early and leave 1 later. then you look good because you are there when everyone arrive in the morning and you miss the worst traffic before and after :-) and you can go play in the mountains or in the pool, what ever you like.
  14. that is true. I can't find the publication but part of my work require that I read science publication and I remember one where there where tests done with 3 groups of top athletes. One group stretch before, one after and group did not. The groups where rotated over a of time. The results where interesting and controversial. The group that stretched before sprinted slower compared to when they stretched after of not. it also noted that there where less injurious for the group when they did not stretched at all. I don't think this is really applicable to joggers because we don't really over train as top athletes are in risk of. But it was clear that overdoing things is not a good idea and that stretching before can be very bad.
  15. can't I go swimming between 12 and 2pm
  16. clearly has not ridden in CT winters yet. your leaving out the shades. tisk tisk. It seems like most people covered the gear you need. My biggest asset is double layered long finger gloves and covers for my shoes, But my best advice is to get a group of friends that cycles. It is sometimes hard to get your self out in the weather and having friends that is waiting for you is a great motivator.
  17. "Trail running good for cyclists?" not much of a bother on the way up a single track, but a dam irritation down. I use a bell for that. Ok here is my 2c. I use to do triathlons, all the short sprint type. Then I started running more than i cycled to train for a few half marathons and the ironman. I was training for a ironman and the plan as to build over a 1 and a half. 6 months before the iron man I entered a marathon on road and it was really painful after words. I could not walk and i felt like some one pulled my body to peaces. It took me 3 months to get running again. So I stopped the training for the ironman. Then a year later did much less training but all of it off road and then did the Otter marathon. 42km of hiking trails. Did not feel pain the next day at all. it help to grow in to the sport but I don't think I will ever do a road marathon again. if you train off road your body will be ok with the oneven train but build up slow over a few years. Enjoy the fresh air man and Night trail running is even more amazing!!!

  20. The Cals in the Polar should be spot on if you have set your VO2 MAX index number.
  21. The Polar would be very accurate if you calibrate it correctly. Some thing about a GPS that you need to know is that the speed is very accurate vs the position. It is strange but you GPS will have difficulty finding your true position but it should not have any problem finding your relevant potion change aka speed, therefore i would go with the Endomondo if it works with a GPS. if you upload your track to google maps you could have a noticeable offset to the track you where one but the speed and path should be very accurate.
  22. except ifyou are chuck norris I think it is very unlikely that the chain wheal it selfis making any noise. it is most probably the conduit of the vibration. If it isnot your chain it will be your BB. I have found that if it is your bb youwill feel it when you move the crank with your hand. it will feel ruff.
  23. They need to mach. the spacing will be off if you skip spokes. Really not a good idea
  24. It is a 8 cell but using 2500mAh cells not 2200 as in the st battery.
  25. MTB_Roadie the point of the thread is not to show that one is better than the other. i do apologize if it sounds that way. the point is to show the difference. better will be based on the application. the MJ872 is better if you don't worry about weight and you can afford the extra battery and you like a lot of light where you are. The MJ808 is better if you like to be light weight and need to see further having a better trow. IT has a good flood and trow so at the end it would be a better choice if that are what you want. I am not saying that he MJ872 head units is heaver than the MJ808E. it is not really, but due to the cheaper LEDs that there using there not that effective in converting energy(watt) to light(lumen) and also there driven a lot harder. 16W vs 9W which requires more battery capacity to maintain for the same amount of time. again if you don't want to cycle very long then the MJ872 is a good choice for you. you can also dim it to extend the battery. It really depend on your application. But the point is these two lights are different and I don't think the mj872 is worth buying. but that is my opinion based on my application. And one more thing, newer is not always better. same apply to price. more is not always better.
