What time do you usually leave Fratellis?

Thanks, traffic will be a bit of a bugger up and I wont make it there in time on the bike. Will join you guys for the Thursday Afternoon Ride on Monday when there is no traffic, that is if there are any of you left in JHB by then.

Well nobody wants to join me from the Sunninghill side so I'm going to sit this one out

I know Merrell also use the Vibram soles.

I dont like shoe laces. The whole under-over-round-through-the-hole-thing is too complicated for me... Plus they tend to stretch and go loose. That is one of the reasons I was looking at these and as mentioned earlier, they look mighty comfy. I have 3 pairs of Salomons and was keen on trying something new and laceless (if there is such a word).

I know that Troisport in Sunninghill stocks the Inov8 shoes. Maybe I should move the previous 2 sentences onto the other thread...

'sup Hubbers. Have any of you tried these? They look mighty strange and comfy. Thinking of getting a pair for the December holidays and for after cycling. There is a long list of reasons why you should wear them, I'm not sure if it is all propaganda ala Powerbalance. Both are decent but have not used Shimano cassettes recently. Regarding SRAM. I've used both the PG980 & the PG990. The 980 have got separate "teethed" splines which gouged my freehub. The sprockets on the 990 are mounted on a sleeve of sorts, so, depending on the price of your freebody go for the option that'll suite you best.

Agree with you. The SRAM seems to have more of a forward and backwards movement on the pulley cage to take up slack where the Shimano moves all over the show.

Saw on the Youtube comments page that the Shimano moves more because it has more pivot points or something along those lines. They, the Shimano fans, argues that that is the reason that the SRAM RD's don't last.

What time did you cycle there? We were there 7ish yesterday morning and it was not too quiet - not nearly as busy as the section from Fratelli's onwards but busy for that section nonetheless. And I agree, it is a lovely ride.

Towards the end of last year myself and a mate came across a bird lying in the middle of the track on the straight section opposite the River Club golf course. Don't know what she did but she ended up fracturing her neck in two places. Spruit can be a dangerous place....

'sup Hubbers. Not really a product review but here is an interesting video of how the X0 compares to the XTR RD. Interesting how the XTR bounces all over the place whilst the X0 is reasonably stable.
