  1. Last night whilst paying attention to my steed I noticed that the rail on my saddle cracked/snapped. It is a Spesh BG Alias 143mm with Ti rails. It is less than a year old. Now I'm in the market for a new saddle. Should I go for one of the Spesh saddles or should I go for a fizi:k Gobi XM wiff k:ium rails? I've heard that the Gobi's are excellent but if you are planning on having kids you should not get one since it impedes circulation to your nether regions. Any truth in the rumour? Also, not looking for any Ti bits since it is a bit brittle. I'm a meaty 86kg's and do mostly marathon/stage race type of events.
  2. Top of the mornin' to ya hubbers. My fork has about 7000kays on it and is showing signs of wear. The anodizing on the right stanchion is wearing off. There is a lot of oil seepage through the seal. This could be a result of wear on the stanchion or seal failure. What to do? I've heard (somewhere...) that once the anodizing goes you might as well bin the fork. Would it be worth it trying to replace the seals or should I just settle for a new fork right from the start. Second part of the question, It is a Fox F80RL on a Spesh Stumpy hard tail. I'm looking at a 100mm travel fork. Would it alter the geometry too much or should it be ok. I see CWC has some sweet deals on F100RL's Thanks
  3. Having never left the ZAR, I have to ask - what is all that white sh*t and them pointy trees? Awesome pics. Looks mighty cold.

  6. Yup, found the Brooks saddle snippet on Youtube, they only had it in aus Deutch so skipped it. Saw the Trek one as well.

  8. ...saw this on Dstv earlier tonight.... Not so much a Q&A but still interesting. This seems to be the Americaaaahn version since the voice over is different. First 10 seconds of the vid seems a bit buggered http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8j5-dC6_x8

  12. I'm in JHB. My LBS is in CPT. I have no idea what the shop looks like, where they are located (besides CPT) and what their hours of operation are. Care to take a guess?
  13. Just keep on keeping on. Try to go to a couple of spin classes if you can't fit cycling in during the week. You'll reap the benefits.

  18. Thanks! Much appreciated!
  19. Stop being such a big baby I find the thread interesting & informative as I'm thinking of doing the same move at the end of the year and value the casual rider's opinion more than the sponsored rider who gets paid to endorse products.
  20. Was thinking of doing the same build at the end of the year...
  21. BS group rides... Was misinterpreted by myself as really, really crummy rides. Something roadies might do...
  22. Damn. I also had one of those but in blue and white. Sold it to take a bird on a date. IDIOT! Before that I had a Trek Sub Dude. Waaay before that I had a Raleigh Burner followed by a Goldhill 15 speed from Game.
  23. Yikes!!! Glad to hear she is ok.
  24. That is what I've been saying all along!!! Well done Jr. and team!!!
  25. Jeez! Hectic! Glad you are ok. Looks like there was lack of fusion in the welding on the back-end of where the seat tube meets the BB shell. Probably went loose there and sheared towards the front when the pedals were loaded as the down tube welding looks intact.
