  1. Dangle, the dude added a bit of a margin of error in his calc. Depends on the lines you take when subtracting. Missed both races due to a combination of the flu, Zamaleks and Jared Leto being awesome.
  2. Another useful thread: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/83315-opinions-xt-wh-m775-wheelset-vs-ac-mtb-tubeless/page__hl__xt
  3. ...some excerpts from a post by Johan Bornman regarding the XT wheelset as I was looking at a pair as well ...However, keep this in mind. A new spoke for that wheel is in the order of R90-00. If your chain overshifts into the spokes, it is 6 x R90-00 before labour. A new rim is in the order of R1000+ Further, some people don't deserve Shimano (cup-and-cone bearing) wheels. They're klutzes with mechanical things and can't seem to figure out when a service is due and when not, thereby destroying the races and ultimately, the wheels.... This made me decide against the wheels. Some further reading: http://www.thehubsa...._1#entry1151527
  4. Thanks AlsDad. Going back to Melrosa Arch since I bought the wrong shoe size for the missus. Then I'm going to do pretty much what you are going to do but at Pizzavino - carbo loading for the next ride
  5. Missed out on yesterdays race although I entered and my road batch starts in 15 mins! Stupid f*&cking cold!!! Now that is something to complain about! New shop in Melrose arch is cool though. They have a great special on Spesh mtb shoes - the ones with the buckle clicky thing for R1229. Bought two pairs - one for me and one for the missus. Joys of retail therapy.
  6. Noooo! She needs an assistant. Any volunteers?
  7. two parts to my post: 1) Sometime ago I ordered some photo's after the third attempt I finally received them. 2) Why cant they just e-mail high res shots? Surely that will be cheaper, faster and more reliable than mailing cd's
  8. A couple of months ago I saw a dude with a 2010 S-Works Epic on Rivonia drive near the N1. Funny thing was he was dressed in rags with old steel toe type shoes with no helmet... I was going the other way.
  9. What about Eva's mountains?
  10. White bibshorts
  11. The Brighter Lights lights is the business. Sure it is a couple of R's more than the Magicshines but you can see where the money went ... and then some. Dibles was so kind as to lend me her set for the Transbaviaans. They lit up the road like the beginning part of the bible. It was on the bright setting the whole night through with no hassles. It was the brightest light in the field by a long shot. My team mates had Magic shines and they battled with the weak handlebar clamp and poor battery performance (had to change batteries somewhere in the night). That being said, the Magic shines is a quick, cheap (&nasty) fix and will do the job like nothing else in its class. If you are serious about night racing though, keen on quality, reliability and durability rather spend a couple of more R's and go for the Brighterlights My 2c worh.
  12. +1. Will try some Q20/WD40?Si spray on the rails
  13. Mate of mine who bought the lights of that site fwd this mail to me:To Our Valued Geomangear Customers, Geomangear temporarily has stopped selling Magicshine lightsets due to our concerns regarding the safety, quality, and performance of Magicshine's lithium-ion battery packs sold by Geomangear between July 2009 and November 2010. We have determined that these Magicshine battery packs do not meet Geomangear's high expectations regarding product safety, quality, and performance. We have notified both the manufacturer of Magicshine lightsets and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission that Geomangear intends to voluntarily recall all Magicshine battery packs sold by Geomangear. We are actively working with the Safety Commission, outside engineering consultants, and a new battery pack supplier to evaluate product recall options for our customers. Geomangear will provide recall information and instructions directly to our affected customers after our final corrective action plan has been approved by the Safety Commission. If you bought a Magicshine lightset from us between June 2009 and November 2010, please discontinue using your lightset until we are able to provide you with an upgraded replacement battery pack. Despite our best efforts, this process will take some time, and we ask for your patience. You can rest assured that Geomangear has taken, and will continue to take, appropriate steps to protect the safety of our customers, and we will stand behind our products. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate your continued loyalty and support during this unprecedented situation our company is facing. Thanks!! 14. It is even worse than your boss stated. You can BUY them for about R0.07. There ya go: http://www.diytrade....er_Balance.html Should probably have posted it on the most entertaining Power balance thread. :D:D

  16. Faaaaaaaaaaaark. That is very Evil Knievel
  17. Have a look at the Columbia trail running shirts in the Columbia store in Woodmead. They are about R200-R220. The Cape Union Mart Outlet store used to sell some leftover Salomon trail running shirts for less than 200.

  19. I feel your pain. Did some CRC shopping because of my 10% discount voucher only to forget to claim my 10%... E-mailed them and they said they'll gladly refund me my 10%!! Yay! Other than that. Yellow Mavic MTB shoes. Please.
  20. Now you're getting the hang of it! Depends on where you are going with this...
  21. There is a white one??!?! All I see is two babies, made of jelly, reaffirming their friendship and maybe planning a morning ride.
