FB has suspended the admin/creator of the group

When my brother in law who lives in Switzerland messaged me to say he had entered a 7 day gravel race and had already paid, I got cold shivers. Quickly checked the event out and with much relief found out that this skormonkel had nothing to do with it.

Chris, tempting as it is, it was just a joke.

That closing scene of Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man is such a classic. Mind you even the opening scene with that Bon Jovi song playing is fantastic. Very corny movie but one of my favorites.

I was bored so I searched FB for Taun Bewsher and found this newly created group. I already joined but have nothing to really add as I am not a victim. Suppose no harm in getting other people to share their experiences

On the Wild Dog Forum numerous people had a run in with a Shaun Dickens. Sold your motorcycle and then ducked and dived with paying the money. A FB page was created in his honor where people could come forward with their experiences. The heat got a bit to much for him and last we heard he high tailed it to USA. Perhaps it's time for a similar campaign?

How do friends and family keep who keep a eye out on his behalf and warn him when people post about him, manage to sleep at night? They then know what he is up to and are assisting him. If he was a family member or friend of mine and I knew about his shenanigans, I would cut all ties with him.

Been a few changes in my bike life. Any ride on the Rocket that is longer than 30 minutes and my lower back is killing me. My L5/S1 fusion from a few years back does not help I suppose. I have been wanting to get some type of dual purpose bike for the better sitting position and ability to do non technical gravel roads. Purchased a KLR650 with a 685cc big bore kit, reworked suspension and doohickey done. A bit rough cosmetically but a nice blank canvas. Coming from the rocket, I was a bit underwhelmed by its tar road performance but happy with it's off road performance. Well truth be told anything after a rocket is going to be underwhelming. A very nice WeeStrom 650 popped up on Wild Dogs forum and my hamster started the treadmill working 🤣. Long story short, my son in law is buying the KLR and I am getting the strom. Now I just need the rocket to sell.

What about a bag that attaches to the handlebars?

What lube would you advise?

My Giant Anthem has developed a irritating creak when pedaling. I have so far ruled out my old knees 😅 If I stand and pedal, no creaking which rules out pivot joints and bearings (I think). Also if I stand on the pedals and bounce up and down no creaking. The minute I sit the noise starts. I don't think the frame is cracked. So the question is can saddles develop creaks and noises? I am going to try and lend a saddle just to check my theory. Possibly something with the seat post?

I would say you have a mix of tar and gravel that you can do. Out towards JBay there are a couple of gravel roads you can do towards the old Apple Express bridge.⁰

When cycling with my normal riding buddy and we are out of PE on the quiter rodes, we sometimes ride next to each other and chat. If a car comes up behind us and briefly hoots to let us know he is there, we quickly get into single file and I always give a little wave of acknowledgement. But yes, there are dicks amongst all road users.

At least this way you know that when it stops dripping you need to top up the oil....

Another game I like to play

Got nothing to do with closet traffic cop wannabees. It is about what is right and wrong. If we as a society cannot get the small things right, then the bigger things stand no chance.

Another game I play is this, no one stops at stop streets anymore. They get treated like yield signs. When I notice someone behind me who is on a mission, I will stop at a stop street and do the whole K53 thing before pulling off. Provides me with endless joy.

I do similar things in traffic. The other day at a set of robots it went green for us. We were crossing a main road and as usual there were the normal 2 or 3 cars still pushing there luck on a green right turn arrow that had gone red for them. I pulled off on green and the oke that had gone through the by now red turning right arrow had to slam on brakes as I refused to back off and let him in front of me.
