  1. Not yet Friday guys...
  2. Thanks will try with smaller grommets to neaten things up. Suspension lockout and dropper switch are comfortably spaced and access to gears not compromised. Will ride it some more and fine tune position of each if needed. I usually only lockout suspension on black top roads so no problem there. Fortunately I have opposable thumbs and should hopefully be able to operate switches accordingly. Will keep you posted
  3. Runs out seat tube and under BB before connecting to cable clips running up front tube to the handle bars. Will neaten up the insulation tape after testing the dropper
  4. Installed the Lyne dropper this evening. Ran cable through the bottle cage connection - unscrewed the threaded adaptor and cable fits nicely. No holes to be drilled. Sealed the hole with stretchy insulation tape. Looking forward to riding it
  5. Lyne dropper post
  6. I use DMR V12 pedals with 5.10 shoes (stealth rubber sole) with my size 12 (4E super wide) slabs of meat. Been about 15 months and very happy with the setup
  7. Stealth rubber is just the type of rubber. Generally vibrant or stealth rubber is used... originating in mountain climbing me thinks. I use 5.10s but those Adidas high top shoes look lekker
  8. A really good cyclist racing for RoadCover who really deserves the spot. Very nice guy. Good luck Clint! RoadCover keep up the good work in Reunion
  9. I took the plunge. Bought an internally routed dropper from Lyne. Arrived yesterday. Will drill into frame. From response from those who have actually drilled as opposed to those who have not, will give it a go
  10. Anybody else looking for a 27.2mm externally routed dropper post? If the demand is high enough I trust our friends at Lyne will consider bringing one out. I really want a dropper post but am not overly keen on drilling into the bike frame to accommodate internal routing. If you are interested let's ask Lyne.
  11. Apart from the obvious, what are the implications of drilling through the frame?
  12. How about 27.2 external routing? PPLLLLEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSEEE
  13. 3hrs at 87% of max HR. All for 300 Points. New system doesn't seem to be working properly.
  14. Ordered one as well. Can't go wrong for R399
  15. Finally a helmet that fits properly. Specialised Ambush
  16. Viva Road Cover. Viva the team for making it happen
  17. Mankele. Brilliant. Tough ascent to start but really lekker downhills
  18. Agreed. It's the small things that define the whole. 1 company.
  19. Look closely at the make-up and origin of the components used in "the real thing". Frequently from China anyway
  20. I followed the markers - which were clear and visible - and had a good ride. I did hit a rock with my shin at km26 of 38 . Luckily managed to complete the race (whilst still following the designated route albeit moving to the side for the more able riders to pass ) before spending the rest of Saturday in hospital. No broken bones just tissue damage and swelling. Thanks to those who helped me and to those who offered too. My point: I did the race/ride because I wanted to. I followed the routes and rules because I wanted to. I finished because I wanted to... and because pain induced adrenaline told me to. I did not cheat, because that's stupid and only fools ones self. Hopefully I will be back on my bike soon. To the cheaters, mmmm well...
  21. Would be nice if Disco would consider addressing their known app issues. Non synchronisation with Disco approved devices is nothing new yet it is still not addressed. Fortunately I never fell for the apple watch dangle.
  22. Discovery = incompetence when it comes to their rewards system. Log complaints backed up with actual data from Vitality approved Garmin products and they still mess it up. I hope those on this forum working at Discovery in the rewards department are capable of feeling absolutely embarrassed. Don't offer a rewards system that does not function properly. Teething problems this is not. This is pathetic. This is not the first time we have experienced such problems and we are not alone in these. At least Discovery med aid still seems to pay.... at times.
