  1. I can't believe this series doesn't get more airtime in Gauteng. Did the 60 yesterday for the first time yesterday and was seriously blown away. Well organized, nice relaxed vibe and a killer route with a little bit of everything - I'll definitely be back!
  2. What I really want is a Santa Cruz Blur LT 650B Pity they have no plans to make any...
  3. I'd like another longer travel (approx 130mm) trail bike to go with my 29" hardtail so, yes - 650B is enticing.
  4. Interestingly, Victor Matfield was at the Cullinan Nissan Series on a 26" dual suspension bike... FWIW I know some manufacturers are no longer producing 26" hardtails in 2013 (e.g BMC).
  5. As the other guys have said - flat and FAST (and usually a lot of fun)! Also - it's unlikely to be 35km - more like 32 based on prior experience.
  6. Mine also seems better. What great afternoon of sport ahead

    Chris Froome

Just increases the anticipation for the 2013 Tour...

    Sani2C Entry

That's what I figured - seeing as I'm waitlisted for the 2nd year in a row

Question is - do people still think they get good value for money?
  10. Just a note for those who might consider going down a batch to ride with a friend / training partner: make sure you change/downgrade your start batch at registration - don't rely on the timing mats to "know" that you departed later than your scheduled batch. Caught me out this time. No biggie - just useful to know...
  11. PYGA. Big guy = big bike...
  12. Santa Cruz Highball
  13. Not in Gauteng in the winter...
  14. So the day's not getting any better then?
  15. Definitely worth it. Did it for the first time last year and loved it - back for round 2 up Spioenkop this year
  16. The only issue I have with mine is the overly pointy shape of the visor - kind of defeats the objective of having a visor in the first place. Other than that - very happy with the helmet.
  17. If you can, get the Anthem. IMO its still the best bang for your buck FS 29er.
  18. Loving my Giordana Silverlines. Not as high quality as my Assos but a steal at half the price. Sorry - no experience with Vermarc.
  19. How unlucky is that - to be a dead ringer for Andy Schleck - bummer!
  20. Best Nissan Series Event of the past 2 years from an organizational point of view - excellent!
  21. Oh well - I figured it was worth the risk, although with the Rand plummeting?? The BC edition looks like a perfect companion for the Highball - looking forward to trying one
  22. Here's a reply I received from Hullabaloo earlier today... First shipment will be in around mid September No set pricing at the moment as this will be determined by exchange rates and logistical costs at time of shipping. But here is a rough estimate 999 RSL R 82 000.00 970 RSL R 49 000.00 970 BC Edition R 48 500.00 950 RSL R 37 500.00
  23. Point taken - I keep the wheels on the ground most of the time. But, they've taken me through Berg & Bush and a few other fairly gnarly events without complaining. Manufacturers rider weight limit is 107kg so hopefully I can stay out of ICU...
  24. Everyone on this forum keeps saying the American Classics are "soft" but I've ridden mine for over a year with absolutely no issues and I weigh 98kgs on a good day. I think it all depends on your riding style...
