  1. Rolls over objects better, more stable, fits 6 foot 3 monkeys better.

If you're tall enough a 29'er would offer significant benefits' date=' and it opens up a whole range of other bikes other than the standard tupperware factory bikes.[/quote'] I am 6'2. What other bikes? I like the 29er concept, never ridden one but read good things. 29'ers available here at the moment include: Niner, OnOne, Orbea, Cannondale, Titus, Pivot, Specialized, Gary Fisher. I think there are a few others as well but can't really remember right now, so you'll have the choice of boutique and mass produced in there.

  4. I wish I'd never brought up the Dutch! It works in other places too. But yeah, I also want to be able to commute on dedicated lanes, now I fight with soccer moms hell bent on killing you with their silver death wagons, sometimes I'm not sure if they're better or worse than the taxi's!
  5. Isolated explanation for a common occurence.
  6. Get hold of Olaf at Crosstown, he's sold and built a few, ask him for some contact details but everyone I've spoken to loves it.
  7. I can't quite recall the specifics but the gist of what they were saying is that drivers take more risks around cyclists with helmets. There were similar studies done in the EU and the country with the lowest injury and fatality rate had no helmet laws and the most cycling road users and that was the Netherlands.
  8. Go to the DT swiss website and use their free spoke calculator.
  9. There was a study done in Canada that proved that since the enforcing of the helmet law the accidents and fatalities in cyclists increased, dramatically too. I just had a look for it now in my mail box but I've deleted it.
  10. Constantia green belt, it's supposed to be for horsies only, so don't ride on the lower tracks, only the upper tracks, I have to duck under some them so I can guarantee that no horses are getting through there.
  11. Yes, green belt, up to Rhodes Mem, up to Cable Station.
  12. Do a quick search for the Lupine range, just sit down before you do.
  13. He loaned my light, it's a Niterider Moab. He says he turned it on around 8:30 and then turned it off around 5 the next morning. He couldn't take my helmet light as it's permanently attached to a helmet and the helmet didn't fit him, that gives a very similar burn time and is a little brighter, it's a Nightlightning IBlaast.
  14. Yeah, after a nasty event like this you do have to manage your health and risks to it pretty tightly, otherwise you pick up all sorts of daft little nagging infections.
  15. Oi, I am on my bike mate, was out this weekend caning myself all over the Grabouw mountains, was good fun, decent technical riding up in that there forest.
  16. Remains to be seen if I am even riding at this point.
  17. Well the last Epic was boring, long open roads and tar with lots of bunch riding, i.e. not a Mountain Bike race, have heard that the next one will be more technical, and it's about bloody time.
  18. That's at least 90% the point! Would actually prefer white walls but they're hard to find.
  19. I need a set of those pink tyres for my Fixie, where did you get them?
  20. Ahh, that's so cute, you don't read so good, so you just assume that it means what you want it to say. How old are you? 12?
  21. What sub vet rider? You mean Moolman? The guys who's been racing Elite all year?
  22. Sent out the first mail 3 and a half weeks ago with an attachment the marks it in your calendar, it's also a commnonly known fact that around the world CM is held on the last Friday of every month, the times we meet haven't changed. Ideally I don't want to have to go through this process of spoon feeding everyone about what's happening, they should just arrive and know that there will be other people there and ready to do it as well.
  23. I normally question why I'm such a **** but I normally don't wait for someone to insult me, then it hits me: I'm a **** because I like being a ****, and I'm good at being a ****, in fact I'm the best **** I know.
  24. Do I need to respond?
