  1. We?re gonna be having the second Critical Mass on Friday the 26th of September, that?s next Friday. If you don?t know what Critical Mass is use Google, basically we?re gonna be joining the global fight against the automobile and the creation of a viable bicycle transport network (don?t get me started).<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The first Critical Mass was held on the 5th of this month, it wasn?t so much a critical mass as the critical 4, now I?m not blaming you lot for not pitching due to the weather delay from the previous weekend, but the lot of you sure as hell had better pitch this damn time! The details are as such: We meet at the Baxter at 06:40 to depart at 06:45, then we meet another group at the bottom of Long Street at 07:15. From there we do short round trip through the Waterfront and back through Greenpoint and then once back to town we can disperse in the various directions we need to. A few notes: 1. Dress Casual, we?re trying to show that commuting isn?t just for lycra clad freaks. 2. This isn?t a training ride so don?t treat it as such. And lastly, see you all there, vive le revolution!
  2. L'Bie, spot on, with the Shimano's a little patience is in order, do it properly the first time (they do come with instructions) and you won't have a problem for a long time.
  3. Why, watcha riding? If it's an Ali Titus, then it depends on the year. They were made in Tainwan for a year or 2. It's only the Ti bikes that were made in house.
  4. I know where mine was made and in fact by whom. He gave me call just before he started.
  5. JTM7, are you kidding? Che? Why, because everyone else has a Che shirt and they now think it's cool to put his 1 iconic image on themselves or to help promote their brand! No, I tell you, NO!
  6. Ride a single speed, you won't have these concerns. If you want to go faster, pedal harder.
  7. Bleeding heart liberal... Hope you have on your Steve Biko T-Shirt today. My Steve Biko shirt is in the wash! I'm wearing my "Llama Star" shirt today instead.
  8. Awesome! Vive le Revolution!
  9. What? Cheap mass production knock offs! Kidding, they're not bad.
  10. Forgive him for he knows not what he is talking about.
  11. I too would love a custom Ti frame, oh hang on, I got one! Nanananananana!
  12. Yes it does! Busy listening to Kobus! now.
  13. Kiwi, it's not the offset that's an issue, it's the suspension correction that is. Mints, you may be onto something, it'll depend on the uppe tyre clearance, it's still gonna mess with the handling though. Just get a bloody 29'er and be done with it!
  14. What you are saying does make sense except for the fact that Rigid 29'er forks are generally suspension corrected. Don't ride a rigid if you're planning to use it off road, it's a cute gimick, kinda like a unicycle.
  15. Nice choice of spokes and rims. As to the non-radial building, if I was you I would listen to what they have to say. DT make a radial and non-radial compatible hub. You can put a hell of a lot of tension on the combination, the exact figure would depend on the tensiometer you're using, the PT one measures deflection whereas other measure actual tension, bu this changes depending on the spoke. Generally you won't hit the danger zone on a wheel due to the nipple trying to round itself.
  16. What do you mean short notice? I posted it on the 1st already! So, small turnout, to the guys that made it and ran the Gympie Gauntlett, well done, to those who stayed in bed: You Suck. You can attempt to redeem yourselves at the end of the month ride (try bringing muffins!). Later!
  17. Right once again for those interested: C.M. Part Deux will take place tomorrow morning! 06:45 at Baxter to depart at 06:45, so get there before if you're keen, then to town where we pick up the rest of the gang at the bottom of Long Street (CTICC entrance) at 07:15. Vive le revolution!
  18. The carbon ones are exactly the same as the other ones. Prefer the older version with the rubber thingie though.
  19. BB, he's talking about the fast trak's not the Captains.
  20. I'm using the non-tubeless LK 29'er, they weigh in at about 600 grams, might be wrong though, don't really weigh the stuff on my bike?
  21. We're gonna give it another go this Friday, doesn't look like we have a hurricane forecast this time! So who's in?
  22. They're not like Crossmarks at all, these work alot better.
  23. But I want to ride my bike, not sell beer or boerie rolls? Other people can sell beer and boerie rolls if they want.
  24. Hey Sabel, naah, it didn't go down, I saw some fish come swimming past my front door as I was about to leave, so pulled soft! We've had a rain call until this Friday, hopefully we can get a few people together this time (hopefully we don't have a bloody storm again!).
