  1. Depends whether he still has the Jones ACX tyres on or not, because those things are pretty bloody terrible! Other than that, it's cool. Travis' bike to buy, essentially (hence the colour), you get loads of them in the States.
  2. I've got Specialized (Fast Trak and Captain's), Maxxis (Crossmark), Kenda (SmallBlock Eight), WTB (ExiWolf), Stan's (Velcrow) and 3 different types of Bontrager's. Really easy to get hold of. Also the Hutchinson guys are bringing in the Python, haven't used them yet though. Of these the Spesh choices are my favourites. What pressure, under 2 bar most of the time.
  3. Try boy, those 29'er Dry-X's work best on a low pressure, I'm running mine pretty low as well, no issues with it.
  4. Yes, Orpheus in the Underworld, it's played as the ladies of negotiable affection are transported to Hades for the final. It's pretty cool in context.
  5. There's a book written by Brian Lopes, it's quite cool, a bit of an ego stroke but he does impart some useful info though.
  6. I thought you wern't allowed to post smut anymore Mrs C
  7. Is that a picture of a junior on a record/bora equiped bike? Let me reiterate a JUNIOR?
  8. I do actually want a set of the Venom kit, any ideas on pricing?
  9. Like the Ibis GayJo?
  10. Just under your nuts, great idea!
  11. Pretty good deductions there young man.
  12. Jaco, you'll be fine by then, with the plate you should be able to ride in 2 weeks, just stay on the IDT for now, are the ribs broken though? You might have an issue with the pushing sections in the freedom challenge but the rest should be fine. Also, watch out for soft sand, it tends to rip the front around whcih hurts the shoulder, other than that, you're golden.
  13. Of these 2 I would say get the SL or go and buy that second hand Titus!
  14. If it's plated it'll take much less time.
  15. Collar bones you can ride a road bike after 3 weeks (although you shouldn't), ribs depends if you're broken or cracked them? Broken means you're not moving much at all, cracked you can ride slowly after about a week maybe even less.
  16. Yeah, got mine from Bowmans. I like the tyre, a little slow for racing but I'm not really racing at the moment so it stays on the front. Works pretty well.
  17. Been using the Spesh tyres for a while now as well, they are awesome, you get the standard fast trak's, the fast trak LK's and the Captain's, all are good. Bontrager make a few, the Dry X works really well (designed for dry conditions as the name says), the Jones XR are also quite nice, don't use the ACX's. Kenda bring in the Small Block Eight a dry hard pack specific tyre. Am also using the WTB ExiWolf 2.3 on the front at the moment, it works pretty damn well! Lots of cornering traction, great for general purpose riding.
  18. I rode the HiFi 29'er for the Epic (the bit I rode at any rate), it was good, real good! Other option is obviously a Titus.
  19. Good advice DB
  20. Shouldn't be too bad, as long as you don't need parts, although it should be O-rings if anything
  21. Hey boy, either get Shane at Bowmans, Kyle at Cycle Factory or Lance at Epic.
  22. The engineering equivalent of open source, love it!
  23. Good idea, take it to Kyle! He's pretty good.
  24. Okay, as the only person here that's owned one of these forks alloy me to say, I told you so! Now, just service the damn thing yourself! You can obviously not touch the magic cartridge but you don't need to. You've got the instruction manual right? It really is pretty simple, then when you get the seals replace them, and while it's open replace the O-ring on the air chamber, it breaks quite easily.
