Bontrager make a tubeless ready 29'er. I have used ans succesfully converted and used most of the tyres to tubeless except the Maxxis options, had issues with them. These include Conti's (take a bit more effort), Spesh (very little trouble), Bontrager (Pretty easy), Kenda (minor issue with the holes in the sidewalls), WTB (sidewalls a bit squishy), Maxxis (refused to take for love or money)

Yeah, my SS Scandal is also just under 10kg mark, my Titus Racer X with gears comes in at about 11.4 most of the time.

I can confirm that the 2.4 29'er Mountain Kings are pretty awesome, I've damaged the one sidewall already but then again I was being pretty silly!

Good ride this morning people, nice one to all those that got dressed up. We had a mouse, a horny carrot, a scream character, a tinkerbell, I came as Karl Marx (subtle, I know) and the various assortment of white trash, although I think some of them were just wearing clothes and not costumes. Also good to see the Baxter massive was bigger than the town side massive, that?s 2 in a row now townies! Funny thing, exchanged a bit of verbage with a taxi driver who didn?t like the fact that we were in front of him at a red light, he finished of his argument by saying (and I quote) ?you bicycles must get bicycle drivers license because you don?t know how to drive?, then he drove through the red light that we had stopped at, nice one brother. I did notice that no unicyclists came along, apparently they were supposed to, would have been good to have some guys with big shoes and red noses along for the jaunt. Another month and all is good, see you all for the Mowvember ride on the 27th. Later.

The details are the same, we meet at the Baxter at 06:45, and pick up the town side group in front of the CTICC at 07:15. It is Halloween (for the Irish and North American amongst us) the next day, so, dress up isn?t essential to your acceptance but there will be a few costumes on display, it depends if you wanna envy the cool kids or be one of the cool kids. Brawler, I jump UCT quite often, I ride a very bastardised STP, seems to be quite a popular bike up at the track as well. You only really need a back brake on a DJ anyway.

Conti 29'ers are available, I have a set of the 2.4's. As far as the 29'er Spesh tires go, I've been using them almost exclusively for about 2 years, in that time I've cut 1 sidewall and I do a fair amount of riding.

They made an exception and changed it to a brand instead recently as 1 guy had 3 tattoos already.

Best race of the year, seriously considering getting out there for it next year.

Thursday is National Braai Day and Friday is international Critical Mass Day. So, join us for a jaunt into town this Friday the 25th. We meet up at the Baxter and leave at 06:45, from here we head down Lower Main Road and to the CTICC, where we pick up the town side lot and at +- 07:15. Then we head through the Waterfornt, around the stadium back along Green Point main road. Then we normally stop for coffee at the Vida after which everyone heads off to their various jobs. Lets get out and have a good day and help educate the motorists about the alternatives out there. Bring some friends, later guys.

Yeah, it's a cool movie, keep a close watch and you might even see my SA flag hanging up in my tent as the leaders came through. It was awesome to watch this battle unfold, that Aussie was crazy, he didn't look it a few days before though. What that video doesn't show is how supremely technical that course really is.
