  1. Dammit!, I've been looking for something like this for a while! Do you speak Italian? How much did they rush you for them?
  2. You got it pretty much spot on, there is nothing wrong with a 3X9 setup, with an 11-32 cassette it gives you a reasonably close ratio cassette as well, so the changes are less abrasive to the legs. 3X10 smacks of alot of complication, I can't think that much when I'm riding.
  3. Flowta - What chainrings are you using for your M960? I'm battling to find anything with a 102 BCD?
  4. I've been stuffing around with my gearing for so long now I can barely remember whick is best and for which situations. I do like the 2X10 with a 26-40 upfront and the 11-36 out back, I also spend a fair amount of time riding SS or riding a 1X10 and sometimes a 1X9, raced a 3X9 last year for 24 worlds. Sani was pretty easy for the 2X10, nothing too excesive there and also no long steep climbs. Van it really sounds like your riding has a bit too much variety to run this setup with much joy I'm afraid.
  5. Hope make an XTR matchmaker, so it helps to free up the space a little.
  6. How tall is your wife?
  7. One handed wheelie, what do you mean you don't think so, a mate does that all the bloody time! It gets annoying he's so good at it! Best line of the movie though is definitely - "Just look at you, you have a moustache, how can anything be wrong with you" awesome!
  8. One of the World Cup mtb teams fines their riders for being seen in compression gear, they're fined becasue they look stupid and by extension make the rest of their team look dumb, good rule I say.
  9. Don't forget, about 4 (or 5) years ago, there was a waist deep river crossing right after the unmanned checkpoint, didn't matter much becasue we were totally soaked at that point anyway.
  10. One of the best, most lucid posts I've read for a long time. Personally I use Game because it's easy to work with those little packets.
  11. Have a look at the Reynolds on CRC, good price and good ride and they're clincher.
  12. Was over there last year, trail riding is huge and the trails are awesome at Rotorua! More than 100km of single track in that forest.
  13. Be careful with the Ignitors, I found them to be an aweful tyre, it didn't seem to do anything very well.
  14. Wolweseun, I have a feeling that if you hit anything flat out it'll break, might be wrong though but I doubt it.
  15. The 9 vs 10 speed does make a difference up front, the spacing on the crankset side is slightly different. I use the XTR 970 (with TA Specialites rings) and 960 to fulfill all my shifting needs, sometimes it's not great but it's mostly fine.
  16. My GF says they steer like a wheel barrow, she likse riding single track though.
  17. Getting annoyed at the company that's bought Titus (On One) is I'm afraid not going to help, I agree that it sucks but you're working with a company that is not afforded the economy of scale of say a Giant (pun intended) in this country. Best thing to do is to find a cheaper way to get it out of the States maybe?
  18. I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth reading all this 29 vs 26 drivle, is it really that contentious? Don't believe the hype just ride a damn bike!
  19. 2 of us are landing at King Shaka at 15:35, after bike pick up and stuff like that we'll probably only be ready to go after 4, so I'm in with this.
  20. Main thing to make cycling safer is more cyclists. http://www.cyclehelmets.org/1186.html
  21. Normal food, try eat quite a bit during the day, it gets harder to eat later on, have some warm soup ready at some point. As far as drinks go, try to go with something neutral, you're gonna hate it by the end though. Try to limit your caffeinne intake until the next day as well. Have fun.
  22. Nice one!
  23. If I can give some advice? Do it. Do it every month. Make it the same time and the same meeting point. The route can vary but it should make sense for people actually commuting to work. We started with 4 in Cape Town, the critical 4, there were 4 of us and we were very critical.
  24. Velouria, I'm with you on that one, Kevin Costner! Best line of the movie: "Of course you're okay, you have a moustache." Love it! And they have Eddy Mercx in the movie.
