  1. Frankie quit after USPS did not renew his contract. Do you really think he never doped? Betsy knew LA doped and then saw him become a multi-millionaire and national hero while her husband didn't even get a contract. You can understand why she is bitter. I really do, but I still don't care much for her. You open yourself up to these kind of things when you think you are the arbitrator of the truth. Same thing with Walsh. He was right all allong and we can give that to him. But, no one would even have known who he is if it wasn't for LA. The controversy around LA made many of these people and will continue to do so for a very long time.
  2. "No holds barred" they say... Oprah Winfrey will speak exclusively with Lance Armstrong in his first no-holds-barred interview. Armstrong will address the alleged doping scandal, years of accusations of cheating, and charges of lying about the use of performance-enhancing drugs throughout his storied cycling career. 3. The taxi driver claims he didn't see him, yet they were both travelling in the same direction. That's the reason why you always check your mirror and your blind spot before turning. It's an accident that could've been avoided had the driver simply turned his head slightly before turning. This just again goes to show that regardless of who is in the wrong the cyclist will always come of second best. You should go on the road with the assumption that all drivers are idiots. This still feels so unreal. Incredibly sad.
  4. So I rode the trails behind the casino. I enetered from the back on the other side of the golf course on the road leading to Fairy glen. Some really awesome riding! Didn't do all of it as I had some brake issues, but that's now sorted so I'll be going back for more.
  5. Hulle se vir my die wind word in PE gemaak maar in Worcester getoets. Lekker winderige dag hier maar ek het soos n mamoet gevreet die laaste paar dae so ry moet ek ry.
  6. Yes, I did use the search function and yes, there are old threads on this but nothing much that is terribly helpful. So, i'd like to ask the question again; Please direct me towards some awesome trails in Worcester. I know the Epic comes through here often but I'm assuming that's through private land. Any help would be much appreciated.
  7. Christmas with the folks in Gariep dam before heading down to thw cape. Superb Karoo riding!
  8. Wiggo is the poms' favourite son. They won't let a "fake" pom lead their team. It's sad for Froome but he's still under contract for two years and while he's there he'll ride for Wiggo. Money talks. With Froome riding in support of Wiggo Sky will once again be a force to be reckoned with. Nobody will just walk over them. That being said, with the likes of Contador, Purito, Valverde and Schleck along with ( the very disapointing 2012 competitors) Nibali and the Evans and Tejay combo there I'm expecting a lot more action. My money will be on Contador, but you can't write of Wiggo. He's got a strong team behind him and he still is a classy rider.
  9. I don't really think that's an issue. He's their dad, so he's their hero whether the ASO lists him as a winner or not. "We all know who won those Tours". So will they.
  10. Rooiberg is tough. I haven't done the race but I've done some riding in the area. Monster climbs and very sandy! So... should be great fun!
  11. That happened in 2011. The Tour de France in general was a lowlight for me. Sky was dominant and Wiggo deserved the victory but the complete inability of any of the other contenders to compete made it boring. The end of Team 360Life is also right up there. EDIT: and it's Wouter Weylandt
  12. Bumping this one... Haven't had a chance to throw my tantrum. So here goes; That really sucks! Lion Man was my first ever race. Still rode with my wife and we were super proud of our 3 hour 35km. It was also an awesome camping weekend with great mates! An annual tradition on our social calendar. So, from my side, here's a big screw you tot the new management.
  13. Got caught napping this year and couldn't get an entry. Next year I'm there! Should be warmed up for this one after sani2c.
  14. Would love to hear more about the Pienaars River singletracks! Dropped you a PM.
  15. Been riding with Oakley Jawbones since they were released... which is roughly 2 years (I think). I won't ride with anything else. Ever.
  16. Awesome photos! See, I would pay R50 to download a high res image of that. Much better than the Action photo stuff were used to. Unfortunately I didn't make the cut. A team mate did though. I'm liking that facebook page. Hope to see this photographer at more of our events!
  17. I'm there! Even though this is not the toughest race around, it is not to be underestimated. I've made that mistake a couple of times...
  18. A really awesome event! My first 24 hour event and it was really enjoyable! The route was awesome! Thanks to Eric and his team. The organisers did a really good job too. The camping sites had ample space, enough showers and toilets (and they were clean), and a big shout out has to go to the marshalls, especially the guys that did the graveyard shift. Also heard that the guy who fell was ok, except for his smile... And also got flashed by Ms Saggy at about 10 on Saturday night. All dressed in black with a couple of nipple rings. I wanted to stop to thank her but decided against it in fear of being her next scrificial victim. My only two complaints: The MC was extremely annoying. I can imagine that it's difficult to keep people entertained for an entire day, but really. I was ready to drown myself in that blue water in the toilets. And, is it really such a big deal if we keep our cars in the camping area. It really did look if there was enough space. Despite these two complaints, it was still an awesome event! A big thanks to the organisers! See you next year!
  19. When I posted that I thought you might comment!
  20. I think that is the problem right there, he is one of the best in the country so sponsorships aren't easy to come by just because a rider like Kev is so expensive. I do agree that is a tad sensationalist though, but isn't that what the media do?
  21. All sorted! Cooler box is washed and ready to be packed! Do I even need a bike?
  22. Oh yeah! Wimpy did the trick! Was really disappointed when we decided to call it, but reading this thread gives me all the reassurance that I need. Big up to all the finishers!
