  1. I really hoped that today was Gilbert's day. Reinhardt came close as well. Good top 10 for him.
  2. I'm also in! It was my first ever road race last year, and I really enjoyed it. Enjoyed it so much that I even did a couple more road races, like Kremetart, this year. I rode with a mate's chip last year, started at the back of the charity bunches and did a 3:17. Hoping for a decent seeding this year so that I can go under 3. Loved the vibe. Great fun! Can't wait!
  3. I have a weeride and my 19 month old son loves it. I agree with you about the riding style. You do have to force your legs outward. Will you not have the same issue with the iBert?

    Rugby...

Definitely! That's the problem with such a young team; when you're on the front foot it all looks good and well, but when the wheels come off it's a train smash. The next weekend will be a major test of their resilience.
  5. Looks realy cool! Thanks Tim. Looking forward!
  6. I'm struggling with my Candys as there is quite a bit of play sideways when I'm clipped in. Any idea what the issue can be?
  7. uhm, no. I'm assuming I can get on that road close to rosemary somewhere? Is it relatively safe?
  8. I'm just looking for some more trails in the east. I get tired of riding boschkop, rosemary hill, zwavelpoort, railroad, etc all the time. So a trip to Rayton and Cullinan along the Pienaars river sounded quite lekker. Let me know and we'll make a plan.
  9. Riaan, let's look at another date. Even if we organise it well in advance. Early October maybe? Gives everyone a month to get their ducks in a row. Then we do a long one!
  10. I haven't had any issues. The otp gets sent almost immediately.
  11. I really do hope that she gets back to her best! Amazing talent!
  12. So, I spend quite a bit of time on my bike and on the spinnung bike, and absolutely no time in the gym. I just don't like going. I have a spinning bike at home so, if I don't go riding, it's just so easy and convenient to get on the spinning bike. Problem is, my upper body gets no exercise so I'm looking to do something that is quick and effective in getting my upper body into shape. Like I mentioned in the title, I'm lazy so going to the gym for an hour is not an option. Should i resort to a couple of push-ups or sit-ups before getting on the bike? I've thought of getting a kettle bell... but then I wouldn't know what to do with it. So, what is the most effecient upper body exercise that I can do at home without spending gazilions on a home gym or spending an hour with a weight in my hand staring at the roof?
  13. Helmytrap, I'm worried about riding with you. I distinctly remember your comments on your training load on the sani2c thread and remember starting to cramp just thinking about it!
  14. Sorry about that. I just wont be able to do 120km on Saturday. I dont want to screw up your whole ride now. If you guys want to do the long ride, please go ahead, but we'll have to do the long ride again sometime soon though, before Magalies Adventure. If we start before 7 I should be able to fit in about 80km. Have a chat and let me know. Still keen to see those river singletracks.
  15. See, some of my detail is obviously missing. My bike did come with me, but obviously only up to a point...
  16. I'm in Faerie Glen. Do you go through the Lynnwood/Silver Lakes/Boschkop area at all? Then I can meet you en route somewhere. Otherwise I can come through to Queenswood. No worries. Look, you know all the good spots. I'm just a little pressed for time and need to be back home around 11. (11:30 at a push) In my mind Roodeplaat, Kameelfontein, Cullinan, etc seems far and there and back sounds like more than a 4 hour ride, but maybe that's just me. That being said, if we start at 6 we have a bit more time. So, you know the trails. Happy if you decide where to ride.
  17. Yes, 4 hours sounds good! What time do you usually start? The earlier the better for me.
  18. Enjoy, the red barn is fun, although not really aesthetically pleasing. They've really went through a lot of effort with the trails though, and it shows. But I digress... We went there thinking we were "skilled" mtb'ers as we've been riding for quite a while and I got my ass handed to me by the black route.
  19. I know it takes away a lot of the effect when I say this , but I came off it relatively unscathed. Lucky, I guess... My bike is fine as well. After the crash I duct taped my shoes and even still rode home. Had a sore elbow and hip and a sore body on Sunday morning, but was back on the spinning bike by Tuesday.
  20. Dropper posts don't help if you ride like an idiot. That was the first thing I checked! lol My first thoughts, even before worrying about broken bones, were "oh f&%#, my new helmet!!!!" But, it's all good... except for the shoes, that is.
  21. So would I! We need to get CCTV cameras on our trails.
  22. Luckily, yes! Remarkably, hardly a scratch. Don't know how that happened. It was one of my harder crashes...
  23. ... that you rip both soles right off your shoes?!?! Took a bit of a tumble at Big Red Barn on Saturday. Carried too much speed down a descent, into a drop off, into a corner... and subsequently, rather ineloquently, dismounted by tossing myself over the handlebars. Now, I've gone over the handlebars before, but never have I ripped the soles of my shoes. I was wearing my Sidi Dominator Pro 5's which are about 18 months old. So, the shoes aren't new and have some mileage on them, but I didn't expect this. I'm baffled.
