  1. So glad someone else posted this! Man, I eat like a lunatic! Hungry 100% of the day! I burn in excess of 8000 kcal per week but no weight loss. So, I know what's the problem but fixing it is another story. Yup, absolutely no self control... I know.
  2. Where was it stolen?
  3. Big up to Lance! Wonder what was the Caveman's problem? Seems like he struggled on the run. "In the men's race, South African Dan Hugo and Conrad Stoltz led LeBrun off the bike. Lebrun then made short work of Stoltz but had to work hard to pass Hugo at Mile 4 of the run. Top USA competitor Josiah Middaugh might have contended for the win if he had not slashed a tire with two miles to go on the bike. He had to carry his machine several times during the final mile. Despite a cut leg, Middaugh unleashed a 2nd fastest 37:58 run to pass several rivals and finish 3rd, 47 seconds back of Hugo. Despite a good swim and bike XTERRA series leader Conrad Stoltz faded to 4th with a 42:27 run." From: http://www.slowtwitch.com/News/Lebrun_McQuaid_win_XTERRA_Nationals__2347.html
  4. Man, I would doggie paddle the swim and crawl the run leg just to do a tri bike leg on that thing! That is hot!
  5. There are a couple of routes. We usually head East on Lynnwood Road and go through Zwavelpoort back towards Atterbury Road. There are some nice steep climbs in the area. You can also go to Boschkop MTB Park if you head towards Boschkop from Lynnwood. You would recognise these roads from the nissan hazeldean race. Going to Boschkop MTB park adds some nice singletrack to your ride and adds about 30kms. There are quite a lot of options.
  6. I trust the animals are fine. From the photos it doesn't seem as if they would've gotten trapped in a corner somwhere. Animal instinct...
  7. Loving the footage of the cornering! Awesome trails! Poor Burry... what a tough life! Nice innovation on the rear shock. I'm never quite sure what pressure is just right.
  8. Damn, that's gonna hurt! Awesome shot!
  9. Dammit Nick! I need friends man! Why did you have to go and do that!??! Anyway, certainly not a revolutionary design.... I'm sure it'll be a good bike though.
  10. It's simple. Give it to your wife. If she screws it up get a new wife and then another new bib short. Results may vary. Repeat until satisfied.
  11. Aaah crap! And this just when everything started turning green. I really hope the damage is minimal...
  12. Results here: http://www.waterpoint.co.za/sites/default/files/Results%20-%20Cradle%20Quest%20on%20Sat%2017%20Sep%202011.pdf
  13. It wasn't a SAS event and the short answer is that no one knows. Keep an eye on this thread, I'm sure someone will post when they find it. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/105891-cradle-quest-2011
  14. Would like to know the same thing.
  15. I rode it. For me the key is to keep my wheels rolling. As soon as you lock up you have no control. The bigger wheels also makes a difference.
  16. Well done Swift! That's an awesome time! I think I would've died if I had to do that race on a hardtail...
  17. It's ridiculous how many cyclists you see on the N1 in Bloemfontein. Yes, it's Bloem, but it's still the N1. The N4 is also definitely a problem.
  18. I got mine last week and rode the Cradle Quest at Van Gaalens this weekend with it. I have to say that I am really impressed with the GUTR. I spent 6 hours in the saddle and did not have to remove my glasses once. Hardly any sweat got into my eyes and it's so comfortable that you don't even notice that it's there. Definitely a good investment. Two thumbs up from me!
  19. Now that is a good question! Where do we get the results? Under this link it says: Results will be listed on:www.spectrumsport.co.za However, there's nothing there. The race was definitely not timed by SS.
  20. Then we did see you! I was busy plugging the wheel of a girl that we met along the route just after a bridge on the river singletrack when you came through. My mate and I later passed you on the river singletrack. I was on the black and white Silverback 29er and my mate on a black and green Scott Spark.
  21. What bike and kit did you ride with? Maybe I saw you somewhere...
  22. They can only gather the data that you share... Voted with my and mu wife's account. 21 votes so far.
  23. Yes, I agree with you on that one! I suffered for 6 hours, I want a medal! Another area that they could improve on is route marking. Although it wasn't terrible, it wasn't good enough. There's a couple that I missed that my riding partner saw and vice versa. If I was riding alone I probably would've missed a marker somewhere. But I really would've liked a medal!!!
  24. Ouch! That hurt! Pretty much what I expected... 5:53 on the 70km. Yes, I am that slow. The first half of the race was super hectic. We climbed 600m in the first 27kms. It was really awesome climbs though and after each you were rewarded with an awesome descent. And that last climb (that wasn't very steep) almost broke me. Luckily the last 15 odd kms were flat and the river singletrack section was nice to end off with. It was really tough, but another awesome MTB experience.
