Many layers. If I remember correctly in some areas up to 16 layers. Im no light weight nor am I a weight weenie so I rather layer a bit more and ha e something strong than a piece of spaghetti wallowing under me. ????

When I do ghetto tjoopless I like using the smaller size tube that you cut open method for rimstrips.
