  2. in a nutshell No! there is no scientific proof that compression socks improve or assist during an event there are however we cannot ignore the placebo effect as you will see hundreds of triathletes with compression socks on during events. There are several studies that show the benefits of using compression gear after an event to assist with recovery.

  7. There's nothing wrong with focusing on the details, but someone who is pedantic makes a big display of knowing obscure facts and details. Pedantic means "like a pedant," someone who's too concerned with literal accuracy or formality. It's a negative term that implies someone is showing off book learning or trivia, especially in a tiresome way. You don't want to go antique-shopping with a pedantic friend, who will use the opportunity to bore you with his in-depth knowledge of Chinese porcelain kitty-litter boxes. Seriously???? all this because of Enduro/Endurance? come on!!! get on your bikes and ride the damn race and dont worry about the freaken name

  10. Hi Blitzer thanks for the suggestions but i intend keeping my geared racebike and want to build up a rigid (light) training singlespeed, if the bug really bites i may consider converting the lefty into a singlespeed too
  11. Guys please help me out, i am busy with a single speed project and need some assistance, i have put together most of the items already but i still need a rigid fork, now the problem is i have a set of 15mm through axle wheels that i would like to use for this build but i havent seen any through axle forks available, can i get a rigid with a through axle or should i use an adapter and change the wheel to a QR? what would be the best option?
  12. i have a SH+ SHabli and can honestly say its one of the best helmets i have ever owned, incl Bell, Giro, Uvex, the 2013 ratchet system is a must though if you have a biggish head. this helmet ticks all the boxes
  13. @ Wyatt, i think you being a harsh on Sagan, he is still a youngster i think we all showboated a bit when we where younger? i know that is where a lot of my scares came from! cant say i have seen anything in the media to conclude that he is arrogant, i must say that i had that opinion about Cavendish till i followed him on Twitter during the tour, he seems to be a lot more humble that what i thought or should i say than what i saw in the media. i think the Tour has always had riders with "personality" and IMO Sagan is no different PS. Sagan is a MTBer thats got to count for something
  14. biggest disappointments this year? IMO it has to be Andy Schleck and Cadel Evans
  15. there will be late entries on the day Capt Cheesy, so make the trip .... its well worth it

  17. Hi guys, as you guys are aware, we always strive to have the results up on the same day however sometimes there are unforeseen problems that make this impossible, in this case there seems to be a missing file with information of several riders on. once this info has been given to us the results will be posted immediately, it was mentioned that the results will be up by Tuesday and we truly hope that this will be possible, but please believe me that everything in our power is being done to get this matter resolved ASAP if you need your results urgently please PM me and i will see if i can send you your results thanks for the patience !
  18. just remember that if you intend to do draft legal races your tri bars have to be bridged and they arent aloud to go past your brakehoods, so have a look for a pair that has alot of adjustment options that you can extend fully for non draft races
  19. LMAO
  20. Hey River Rat as you know i am not a MD but i do know that if the spondylolsis is causing a pinched nerve this would explain the muscle weakness ( do you have any dead spots on your leg or butt area?) but, most likely that will only be in one leg, the chances of it affecting both legs IMO is very slim, furthermore is the problem only experienced when climbing or is it a general muscle weakness problem? you mentioned that the latest X-ray shows that there is no deterioration which is great news however a X-ray would of shown if you had a narrowed nerve channel which would have explained the muscle weakness. there are tests that biokineticist do that can determine the power output of muscles, maybe you should have this checked to determine if there is a problem with your power output. If there isn't a problem then it may be a climbing technique problem? i have had alot of problems with my lower back in the past and if there is someone that can work wonders its Dr Gregory Duddy at the Meyerdale chiropractic clinic http://www.chiroville.co.za/ maybe consider giving him a call. hope you get it sorted out! good luck !
  21. dylan, is it your trisuit or wetsuit? wetsuits can easily be repaired with a soft rubber adhesive, the one i use is made by pratley... bought from Mica, most material shops should stock a thin neoprene if you want to patch it on the inside, but usually if done properly the adhesive will be sufficient to repair the hole
