  1. Catching abuse everywhere for not having pics. My excuse is it was too dark.
  2. Dudes, I have a confession to make. I rode my bike today.
  3. You should get similar to your normal mileage on them. They have enough cushioning to not go flat too quickly and the outsole is the Conti material and that lasts very well. In a three shoe rotation you will get decent miles on them. I'm fairly hard on shoes though and generally start feeling the road on longer runs after 650-700km in any shoe. Look at Ferret's gear strava page, you will see he gets huge miles out of his. He is much lighter on his feet than I am. But seriously, change the Pegasus for the React's. you will thank me. They are my default shoe at the moment and feel they are as quick as the Bostons.
  4. Lexx, The Bostons are great, for more cushioning and lighter try the React's. I ended up running comrades in them, but also did some quick shorter runs and they are great. Possibly better than the Zoom Fly.
  5. Thanks Lexx, you too. It is a knife edge between a good and bad day. Stretch, Meeks had a cracker of a race. He is a beast.
  6. That is spectacular. I'll try to remember to look back
  7. 38575 Hopefully I'll be the guy on Ferret's shoulder. A few of us in Wanderers kit
  8. Chicago in Oct. Not sure how i'm going to motivate myself after the 10th June. Ah, I think I remember going to Amsterdam.
  9. They got more chance of running as the original person and just stuffing up the finish stats. People are precious about their finish stats.
  10. Shock wave therapy, heel cups and a course of brufen might help. There are also a couple of stretches that help as well. The brufen wrecks your stomach though. Been dealing with it since mid march, I cant walk on my left heel for the first 5 minutes every morning and if a sit too long and get up. Good luck
  11. Try doing Grucox to keep fit and build strength and there is a chance you could get to the start line and have a reasonable day. . Wanderers Sports Medical Centre has two bikes.
  12. 2010 & 2017 and I think 3 will be enough for me.
  13. Let me know and I can go for you and bring them to Loskop
  14. That is BS, but definitely not a race. I'll be trying to hold on to Ferret for a 3:59:01 Another good weekend of mileage and banter.
  15. Ferret and myself will be heading to Loskop.
  16. Lexx, Good week last week, quality and quantity. Not sure how you do all that training on your pat. Respect.
  17. Don't stress on everybody else's numbers. Just focus on your build up and progress. it has already been discussed here, but the spread of mileage is huge. Some guys will do around 1000km and others will run 3000km to do sub 7h. Each to his own, pick your goal and target and let the rest take care of itself. Good luck
  18. They way you are running at the moment, you are comfortable for a Bill. Stay healthy and injury free and you will be closer to 8 than 9.
  19. 1230km, should finish the week on 1300km. would like to get to 2100km on race day. Up from 1950km last year.
  20. Pretty much only running at the moment. Do strength work(GRUCOX) and the odd cycle, just don't have time to cycle as well. Started out in Oct 2016 with a goal to go Sub 7 this year after taking some time off the bike. So it is an all or nothing, no point in messing about and not being dedicated to that goal.
  21. The luxury of being able to run at just over 6m/km. That is a great program for a Bill in my opinion and your results suggest it is for you. It is still less time than I used to spend on the bike, and that is why I decided to start running. 8-10h weeks vs 16-20h weeks. The family unit grew and time available shrunk. My missus is also wants to run comrades, the last time she ran was Oceans 2010 and then you discovered MTB. She is doing 60 - 80km weeks and her big weeks will be 100 - 120km and probably only one or two of those. I'm confident she will get a Bill, she just has to do enough to get strong without getting injured. End upon on somewhere between 1200 -1400km for the year on race day.
  22. Very much a case of what works for your body and how used to hours it is. I know I respond well to big miles, whether on the bike or running. Those looking at the 150k week, have a look at my training log on Strava (attached). It has been a steady build to that and no real speed work. This week will be a little easier, next big week will be leading into Loskop. Shorter weeks have more speed and strength(hill work) in them. It is not that hard to get 100km a week in when you do 50-60k on a weekend and still get two rest days. Effectively resting from Sunday morning after run session till Tuesday morning and possibly on friday as well. Massage/Stretching and effective body management plays a massive role as well. You can't expect to run 90km at 4m30 -4m45 you aren't doing the miles and doing some decent speed work. It is obviously very different if the goal is to finish. There are some people out there that perform really well on 80-100km per week and others that need 150km plus weeks. Everybody is different, it is also one of the strongest reasons why I don't use a coach they often have one program which thy slightly adapt for their athletes. Look at Barry and Jess, they are a great example. Both of them knows what works for them and train accordingly and get the best out of themselves. I am lucky that my training/race partner responds in very similar way to me so we can do all our training together. When I was on the bike, my stage race partner I would only do recovery rides or LSD together despite living less than 5km apart. In two years we probably did 10 training sessions together. He responded to different training to me, but we got to races with as close to zero performance difference as you could hope for. It is getting to crunch time for comrades training, all the best to all of you and no getting sick or injured. Stick to your plan.
  23. it is an amazing run, did it a few years ago in the middle of winter. Loved running through the snow and bum sliding into Balloch. Congrats on doing it through that shite weather
