    Cricket......

Behardien. I seriously cannot understand why this oke is playing for the proteas. The afrikaans commentators were also asking why the hell is Amla not playing, and they also said the first guy they'd drop is Behardien. Followed by Duminy who has a very low batting average for the number of games he's played. And then he goes on to score a very decent total..
  2. Strauss finally had a good game. Flouw better, made a couple of steals but that's about it. Pity others like Elton and jantjies weren't afforded 8 games to find form. Jdj is absolutely pathetic. Sheez that guy annoys me! Kriel is lost at 13, he should focus on fullback. Lambie was ok, pretty much kicked every ball he got at the back. Hougie is a better 9 than wing. Oupa was useless as usual. Paige was ok, no flash but did his basics well
  3. Go bokke. Yawn. Guess that's what you get when you pick morne. No tries, but lots of penalties and maybe a win. Yawn
  4. Boks are really desperate so may just sneak a win here. And I hate saying this but then AC will be quite chuffed with his selections. So I almost want us to hit rock bottom so AC's blinkers will come off
  5. I think Jake was asked to leave. His boss wasn't happy that Jake applied for the England job And old Stick went from coach at the Kings U/19 for 1 season to the boks. Talk about fast-tracking someone hey. I fully agree with Krige, what is Stick going to teach the likes of Habana or the rest of the backline who most probably have more experience than him?
  6. Does anyone know when this week's bok team is going to be announced? All indications are that Faf and Jantjies will be axed from match 23. To be replaced by paige and Steyn/lambie. Goosen to be dropped too with Willie back at 15. This week AC has again proven what an idiot he is. So he says he doesn't need Rohan jv Rensburg, he has duh duh that can do everything Rohan does. Same day he sends duh duh back to CC. He says he didn't send an SOS for help, the media imagined things. He says he's happy with his loose forward combinations and JDJ and Jesse played well as senter pairing. Oh and don't forget Marx is also back at the Lions because he missed 2 or 3 lineouts against the AB's. Nevermind he did more in general play than the captain has done all year.
  7. Yup. There was an article about it after the first or 2nd Ireland test I think. He said that players conceding stupid penalties will feel it in their pocket. So maybe not mistakes like knock on's, but penalties definitely
  8. Wow, that's hectic! The game is so fast, how the hell do you have time to think about coach's instructions etc when you suddenly have the ball in your hands and five 100+kg okes are storming towards you!? That, and what Moridin said about the fines, is what I most dislike about AC. Yes players should be accountable for their performances, but fining them for mistakes/penalties (there was an article about how AC introduced this at the boks) is just f*cked up. ja sure fine them (down downs), but AC actually takes $$ away from them for mistakes and silly penalties. How does that instil team unity and trust, or confidence? We didn't have many bok coach options, but in my opinion AC was the wrong choice.. Anyways, what do you guys think about the Currie Cup? Who's gonna go through, the Sharks or Lions? I think FS, Bulls and WP are safely into the semis already
  9. It just shows how clever those AB's are and how they read the situation on the field. Something the boks have never been able to do. Why? Because we are coached into a set way of playing. Set way of attacking, set way of defending, set way of doing anything. You step out of line and do something thats not according to the coach's plan, you're in deep sh..t
  10. So the current state of bok rugby is because of the Lions players? The same lions players that were lightyears ahead of the other sa teams in super rugby? Yes, faf has regressed badly and jantjies never looked cut out for a bok berth. But in my opinion the buck stops with AC and his assistants, and next in line the captain. And all the senior players in the team that should be leading the newbies
  11. That has me worried. I don't want the fate of all SA franchises in the hands of AC! What if he decides the gameplan all of SA should follow is the one he employed at the Stormers - defend defend defend, kick penalty, win game (sometimes). I actually like it that we have such different franchises playing different styles of rugby. To me it should be seen as a strength, not a weakness. Also, the days of us being bigger and stronger than everyone else is over. So the original bok strength is no more. Just look at the junior England team that absolutely murdered our junior bokkies, those okes were much bigger than our laaities. Watch any super rugby game or even tests, our forwards are often lighter than the opposition. So, domkrag can't work anymore!
  12. We kinda have to hit rock bottom like what happened to the Lions union. 2013 when we got relegated forced the union to either fold completely or pull itself together. Luckily they did the latter. "the powers that be" - now there is the real problem. All politicians only interested in lining their pockets and putting a "representative" team on the field. They are not real rugby men unfortunately
  13. Agree. We all support them but it's infuriating watching the coach stick with players that are plain for all to see out of form. Whilst possible match winners like Jaco Kriel, Marx etc sit on the bench and get a few minutes if they're lucky. I feel for guys like Bongi who got 7mins in the last 6 matches then gets dropped. Same with Mapoe. Then he rather picks a mediocre, untested centre pairing of JDJ (who hasn't played 15 man rugby in months) and Kriel (who is a fullback by the way) instead of one of the best centre pairings in super rugby, Rohan and Mapoe. Then you also have a 9 at wing and a flyhalf at fullback. Don't let me get started on Flouw... Aaarg!
  14. So minimal changes to the Bok team for AB's clash. What's the definition of insanity again? Sigh... Luckily I'm out on Saturday so can't watch the game. Wouldn't mind seeing us get pakslae actually, maybe then totti will catch a wakeup
  15. I've also wondered about Lambie. I honestly can't remember when last I saw him play a match winning game? On the other hand I can recall a few super rugby games this year where Jantjies was on fire. I think Lambie, like a couple other SA players are just very hyped up by the SA media. Poster boy Lambie with his no dandruff hair vs shocking haircut and ugly goatee Jantjies (plus all the tattoos). Jantjies isn't everyone's cup of tea... But if Jantjies is struggling I wouldn't hesitate promoting Lambie again
  16. last I heard he has started training again with the sharks, but no contact yet. Which means you can't just rush him back into the bok team.
  17. LOL, he's never been known for his kicking skills. So instead of telling a ferrari to go 4x4 offroad, why not let Goosen and/or Combrinck (when he was still fit) help with the kicking duties? Barret's goal kicking percentage is just as low as Jantjies. But the difference is the AB's gives him freedom to play his natural attacking game whereas jantjies is boxed in by AC. Look, as brilliant as Jantjies was for the Lions, I would probably still prefer Lambie ahead of him. IF he's been playing some rugby and performing well, I don't want another player there on reputation only. Our problem is we don't have anyone else at the moment.
  18. Faf and Jantjies performed brilliantly in super rugby because their pack was going forward. Also, they both like a fast attacking style of play. Now you put them behind a struggling pack and you tell them both to play a tactical kicking game. We are not protecting our ball properly so every ruck Faf has to fight for possession first. Then by the time Jantjies gets the ball he has to either kick it or pass to a one dimensional 12.
  19. What do you guys think of AC calling Willem Alberts back? I dunno, me thinks it's a step backwards. If you want someone to get you over the advantage line, there's a guy called Jaco Kriel on the bench. Running over defenders doesn't work anymore. I'll also be very surprised if he drops Oupa. He's more than likely to play Willem from the bench or promote him to 7 (and move oupa to 6) or 8. Which would be so wrong... I know it won't happen (not this wknd at least), but I would give Jantjies another shot with Rohan jv Rensburg and Mapoe next to him. And if he still doesn't cut it then, put Goosen at 10 until Lambie is fit again. Move Jesse to 15 or give Andries Coetzee a shot at 15. He's been playing really good lately. Oh, and of course replace our entire front row plus a new captain please
  20. What a k.k game of rugby. How AC and his assistants can take such talented players and make them play utter shite is beyond me. Next weekend is going to be interesting...
  21. They are quite serious about the safety gear every rider has to have on them. With such short distances and the race happening in spring I just wonder why? If it was a long endurance race at night time then yes by all means

    Cricket......

I spoke to soon it seems, what a 2nd innings collapse! If Duminy was still bowling you could sort of justify his selection. But a 50 once every blue moon just isn't good enough. I wouldn't let AB keep, his back won't last, and Quinny is a very good keeper. Seems to be young and fit enough to keep and open the batting.

    Cricket......

So SA is playing some decent cricket for a change! Lekker to have Vern and Steyn firing again, plus Rabada bowling at 150kph. Imagine if Morkel was there too... Seems like a very good SA team this. Piedt is probably the only guy who has to prove himself still. And I'm not a fan of Duminy, but he did play a decent first innings.
  24. Not very clever of Duh Duh to respond to critcism on Twitter. Then again, he doesn't look like the sharpest tool in the shed... I wonder if the same okes who started campaigning to get rid of HM will do the same with AC?
  25. The best example of this was when Duh Duh made a line break close to the tryline. With one player in front of him he runs straight at the defender to bulldoze him. Instead he gets tackled and the ball is ripped from him inches from the line.
