I would go with Morris. He's a very good allrounder. We need that extra bowling option. I don't think Maharaj is going to have a lot of success against the Indians, they play spin really well and we don't have turning wickets. So we can't leave it up to Morkel (sometimes erratic) and Philander (injury prone) to take 20 wickets in a match. Oh yes Rabada is also there

Ooooh!!!!! 30/2! Things can get interesting here! They have to get Kohli out cheaply, he's the key to winning or losing this match!

It's a tough one. We all know Steyn is one of the best ever. And he's worked so hard to get back.. But now at 34 he's so injury prone, and has broken down in all of his last 3 tests if I'm not mistaken? So do you take a chance with him again, where if he breaks down again you're left with a strike bowler and a batsman short? I wouldn't select him again, unless he has played some domestic cricket and has some overs under the belt

As I was saying about luck. Vijay been given out twice now, both times reversed by DRS. Every edge flies to the boundary...Already 29 runs after only 7 overs. At this rate India is going to easily get the runs

    Cricket......

Been a while since I posted here! I'm terribly nervous about this game.. I don't think we have enough runs on the board. 250-300 would've been better. Preferably 300 - 350. Good start by India so far. If luck is on their side they'll get the runs. Is it just me or is Kohli extremely annoying with his celebrations after each SA wicket??
  6. Thanks, sounds like a lekker fast route. I'm not very fit at the moment though (who is after Dec holidays??) so might take the easier option of 40km
  7. Is there a website for this race? Don't see any links here? I'm from KZN but will be in Gauteng this weekend. Keen to do a race whilst I'm there. Interested to know what the route is like, technicality, ascent etc..?

    Cricket......

Brilliant chirp! So Duminy has been sent home, many saying it spells the end of his international career. But with a batting avg of 32 and less than 50 wickets in total, he was damn lucky to play so many tests for SA! Looking forward to tomorrows test. Pity there was such a long break inbetween, we certainly could've taken the momentum from the 2nd test into this one.

    Cricket......

Excellent win blommetjies! Crazy how 1 test Eng completely dominate, and the next SA completely dominate. One moment you're the best team in the world and the next you're dogsh*t. Pity about this long break inbetween. Would've been good to take this momentum into the 3rd test, and properly klap those pommies again!

Good 50 by #! Hope he converts the 50 to 300 good to see de kock bat a little earlier. Proteas doing well so far in swinging conditions

Who would you guys have in the team today, Morris or De Bruyn? I feel for De Bruyn but I would go with Morris. Without Dale Steyn, Kg and a suspiciously unfit Vern we're going to need that extra pace bowler

    Cricket......

six 100's and only 8 fifties after 46 matches is shocking. If he was a true allrounder who bowled a lot and batted a bit you could forgive him, but he's seen as a proper batsman coming in at no4 now. That's just not good enough. And when last did he bowl (and take wickets)? As I've said, Stephen Cook failed in 3 tests then got dropped... Where's the consistency here?

    Cricket......

We're too conservative, especially under AB. Faf has been a bit more attack minded at least. And ja JPD... Cook failed in 3 tests and got dropped. But JPD has been failing for years now, like you said, with a brief flash of brilliance once every 2 years just to keep him in the team. He doesn't even bowl much anymore so can't be classed as an allrounder. Jeepers that guy annoys me!!!! Hope our young team with Faf back does a bit better tomorrow!

I think the KP issue was very different to the current AB one. KP was a d*ck and very unpopular in the english team. Remember it all blew up when we were touring there and he was sms'in the SA players on how to get Strauss out. Also, KP and Flower (the then coach) hated each other. AB, as far as everyone outside the team can see, gets on very well with everyone. He used to be everyones favourite player, even in India I think he is 2nd only to Kohli. AB's downfall, in my humble opinion, is that he is not a very good captain or tactician. Ever since he took over the captaincy people have questioned his tactics. And then he started picking Indian rupees over playing for SA.... I for one have lost a lot of respect for him. Yes he is one of the all time greats, but no-one is bigger than the game. If he wants to chase $$$$ all over the world in the T20 leagues like Gayle, then do so, but step down from the Proteas then. If he feels he can't play all 3 formats, fine, pick your format and stick with it. Don't pick and choose which series you want to play in.. It's very unfair on the batsman that will have to make way for him everytime AB feels like playing again.
  16. Yesterday after work Although the cooler temp is nice in winter you don't have much time after work before the sun sets..
  17. What are the Pyga Marathon29 wheels like? Anyone here using them? I'm looking at upgrading my wheelset and wondering if it's worth looking at the Pyga wheels instead of the better known wheel brands..

ja eish, what can we say about the blommetjies. Bietjie verlep is al waaraan ek kan dink... First issue is we lacked a proper leader. This should be sorted once Faf is back. Our openers are sh*t, even Elgar has a very mediocre average. Amla is horribly out of form (and has been for a while now). His avg has dropped by a lot the last 2 seasons. Duminy - I've said it plenty times before, he's k*k. There's even an article about him and how he's the luckiest (and worst) international cricketer ever. Every time bavuma and De Kock gets to the middle the team is in trouble and they are under too much pressure. Bowling discipline is shocking. Vern isn't fit enough at the moment. Our fielding was also shocking. Lots of problems to fix when the new coach is appointed
  19. I'm really struggling to get into the mood for super rugby again. This international break really killed all momentum the tournament had. And whilst we go back to super rugby, the AB's are still playing 2 tests vs the Lions. World rugby seriously need to get a global schedule/timeframe or whatever. Would've made sense to finish super rugby first, then play a series of international games before the RC kicks off.
  20. I think they own all 80mins actually! There's no-one that can come close to them at the moment. They'll have to have a terrible off day for anyone to get a sniff of beating them.
  21. Yeah we missed WW badly. Also Ross Cronje, Hougie didn't have a very good game. He threw one shocking pass from where the French scored a penalty. Good to see Serfontein back to his best. Going to be an epic battle between him and Rohan when he's fit again. Jesse Kriel is good on attack but needs to work on his defence a bit. Weak links in this team are Rhule and Beast. Skosan has been very quiet but he hasn't made any mistakes. Now back to super rugby.. It feels weird.
  22. Lekker to see some discussion here! It's still early days, lets beat the French 3-0 first, and even with this young and inexperienced team we should beat Arg and Aus (at home at least) in the rugby championship. We won't beat the AB's yet, nor England and Ireland. But if we can move up to 3rd or 4th in the world by the end of this year I would be happy with the progress. Next year we can challenge for 2nd again, and perhaps try for an upset win over the AB's in SA.
  23. Forwards in the backline used to annoy me bigtime. I didn't really notice it that much the last 2 games though. But remember the days when Schalk Burger played flyhalf? Jislaik I wanted to sh.t my pants everytime they did that! Skosan is a better defender than Rhule. Rhule has the worst defending stats of any player in super rugby currently. Jantjies has worked hard on his defence, and in a couple of lions games he put in several try saving tackles. He must just stop with that judo-throw tackle of his.. At least he's a better defender than Boshc! Damn that kid is a bangbroek! I wonder if Jesse Kriel will be available this week? Going to be interesting to see if AC keeps Mapoe or brings Jesse back. I would keep Mapoe, Jesse kan replace Leyds on the bench. It's obvious AC doesn't rate Leyds, he only brought him on for like 5mins in both tests
  24. Ek dink nie enigiemand verwag dat die bokke die kiwis gaan wen hierdie jaar nie. Baby steps... Onthou laasjaar het ons rock bottom geslaan. Vir nou is hierdie vertonings uitstekend.
  25. Duh Duh, or Die Ellendig, has been sent home to regain form.. Bwahahaha! Jaco Kriel isn't injured, he's available and been training with the test team. I agree it would be better to let him play for the A side if he's not even on the bench for the boks. I dunno why he's not in the team, he's one of the best 6's in the world!
