  1. Excellent write-up! I really enjoyed that. Oh and well done! One day when I'm big...
  2. I think changes are on the cards for super rugby 2018. Remember, 1 SA and 1 Aus team might get the boot... Whether those spots go to a Fiji team and/or Hong Kong I don't know In my opinion they should make it a 2 tier competition, so strength play strength. And then you have a play-off game for the tier 1 bottom 2 teams vs tier 2 top 2 teams. That'll make things much more interesting!
  3. I'll be joining the Pyga family soon! Ordered a new Pyga Stage (mini max) frame from Pyga HQ in Howick. Will collect it at the end of this month and transfer my current components across. Can't wait!
  4. So seems AC is here to stay. At least until after the French internationals. Sigh... It's going to be another tough year for bok supporters. I just hope everyone vote with their feet and wallets, and don't attend bok matches or buy any merchandise! That'll wake saru up!

I've always been a big fan of AB, and yes he has nothing to prove and if there's anyone that deserves to cherry pick then it's him. BUT, how would you feel if you were the oke that worked has arse off to get into the test team and score some runs, then when AB feels like it they tell you you're out again? If he feels his body can't handle playing all 3 formats, then he must drop a format. Don't "half retire". If he wants to go the route Chris Gayle took, then so be it. But be honest and open about it. No-one is bigger than the game, and to me it just feels like he's now more interested in chasing $$$$. I mean, he's already earning in excess of R20mil a year, how much more does he want?

    Cricket......

Ok so obviously there's been lots written about the whole AB issue since this first came out. But first of all, I raised the issue of politics because the incident during the WC semi seemed to have hurt the team a lot. And even though AB denied everything in his book, I think it hurt him too. So, yesterday he scores 134 for the Titans. And he's ready to play in the last T20. After that it's the IPL, where he reportedly earns R18Mil. Oh and the IPL is in India (away from home), for those bringing up the argument of family and wanting to spend more time at home. Does he not also play in the Caribbean T20 tournament? Also reported in the media this past week is that he has a R28Mil contract with some company in India. Coincidentally he'll only be ready to play test cricket again when SA tour India. Coincidentally.... @Sitting slip, his protea contract is only a drop in the ocean when you look at his earnings through sponsorships. I know it's all speculation because none of us know him or know why he made the decision to not play test cricket this year. But to me, if he can cash in on T20 cricket then physically there's nothing wrong with him. If he wants to make it to the 2019 WC then so be it. But don't cherry pick when you want to play test cricket, and don't try BS us by saying you're not physically ready.

    Cricket......

That would be such a shame. You'd think that test cricket is the pinnacle for any cricketer. Yes he's already played 100+ tests (I think) but he's got a good few years of cricket left in him. Must be $ driven decision.. And maybe politics? QDK my most likely bet to make it to 100. You don't often see wicketkeepers pulling off stunning catches, but QDK does it regularly. And he's a brilliant batmen, could possibly open the batting with Elgar if they drop Cook for AB? Rabada will make it too, if he can stay injury free.
  9. You may not have the wildlife, but you do have SINGLETRACK!
  10. Did my normal route yesterday, but the weather and a large herd of ellies made it a bit more interesting. Started drizzling but stopped after a few minutes Not nearly as much mud as at "the fast one" but I decided to hike around it through the bush. Eliies made an obstacle course for me, had to dodge lots of branches and turds

So seems there are doubts to whether AB wants to play test cricket again http://www.espncricinfo.com/south-africa-v-sri-lanka-2016-17/content/story/1077588.html According to Linda Zondi, bavuma is immune. Even though he has an average of barely 30. Seems like duminy is also safe. I'm sorry to say but there is no team in the world that would NOT have AB in their team. And if it is really a case of AB not wanting to be there, some serious questions need to be asked. Is it because of quota issues in csa? Is it because he'd rather become a second Chris gayle and just coin it across the world in t20 competitions?

    Cricket......

When Parnell first appeared on the scene as a junior he was brilliant. There was even talk of him being the next Kallis. Then he got injured, and I think he had some personal/attitude issues, and has just never lived up to expectations. When he plays he's either brilliant or utter shite. More often than not the latter. I see he is bowling even slower than Philander is. between the mid 120's and low 130's. Why they gave the new ball to him and not Rabada I don't know... There's place for Parnell when we play an all out pace attack, but when you bring your spin bowler back Parnell will miss out again. Ok in this case the spin bowler is also a POC so that helps. I highly doubt that they'll drop Bavuma when AB comes back. Too much was made of him when he scored his maiden 100 (was it on debut?). He's a good fielder and that run-out in Aus was brilliant, so that's another tick next to his name. I don't know if Amla is keen on opening again, but it does look most likely that either Cook or Elgar will get dropped. Duminy has probably saved his own ass for another 10 years by scoring some runs this season. I still don't like the chop and would much rather drop him for AB. They made allowance for having more whiteys in the test team by saying the % POC is averaged over the season and across all 3 formats.

Aaah, out for 134. Was hoping he'd get to 200 but seems like it's a day for the bowlers today. Maybe Faf should declare now and get Vern and ... Oh yes, Parnell is back in the side. Eish, if there is someone I dislike almost as much as duminy it's that guy! But if they win games for the Proteas, they can stay. I'll let Domingo know it's ok..
  14. hehe. Cool pic, and nice bike! Even if you only have half a fork
  15. You ride with a selfie stick?
  16. That is hilarious! At least you had a lekker braai the first night!?
  17. I guess you can try make it as safe as possible. Use the fenix 3 livetrack function, make contact with family every 2 hours, have them wait at each day's endpoint and so on. Still, it would be much more pleasant with a friend
  18. Have any of you done tours solo? My riding partner doesn't seem overly keen on the tour idea, so I'm worried he's going to pull out. I've read in magazines several accounts of people doing it solo, but in SA it's a massive risk... I could have my family second me and wait at each day's endpoint
  19. Does wearing a helmet really put people off cycling? Has anyone ever gone "argh I don't feel like all the effort of putting on a helmet, let's rather not ride today"? It is a schlep getting dressed for cycling yes. But the helmet is just one of 6 items, and once it's on you forget about it.
  20. Also, a couple of people here have tried to put things into context. If you're cycling on the road and a 18 wheel truck drives over you, a helmet ain't going to save you. But if you go OTB and land on your noggin, it might just save your life or at least save you from severe injuries.
  21. This thread is still going? Sjo! I've never had a very serious fall, but I've seen a mate knock himself out on a gap jump, and that was not a pretty sight. Another +1 for "if I hadn't worn a helmet that day..."

    Cricket......

This Abbot and Riley story, I don't blame either of them. Neither have had an extended chance to prove themselves at international level. Unlike other players... Then they're in, then they're out. For many years. In Riley's case, you have AB coming back so he's still behind him in line. He wouldn't get a chance to play in the near future... So why carry around drinks when you could be playing elsewhere? Abbot, I know he wouldn't blame the quota system, but come on, we all know it must've played a big role in his decision. Especially what happened at the WC semi. Other than that, he was unlucky sitting behind Steyn, Morkel and Philander (when they're all fit). Now Rabada has also leapfrogged him. And once they find the next Ntini/Rabada he will leapfrog him too. It was poor form from Lorgat and Domingo to diss both of them at the press conference. "No return on investment". BS man!
  23. What lids are your kids wearing? I'm looking at getting the Bell sidetrack for my kids. Ages 7, 6 and 3. Just wondering about the size though.. Should I wait until I can get to a shop and try them on are these adjustable and one size fits all? http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/bell-sidetrack-helmet-youth
  24. What he said ^^^^
  25. I like the new straps and the fact that they are compatible with the fenix 3. Other than that I don't see much difference, or the need to upgrade to the 5.
