  1. This road should not be ridin on by cyclists as half of the road does not have a yellow line nor any run-off!
  2. Think the bike still looks a little heavy!
  3. Very well said and summed up, I LIKE!
  4. What do you class as `road-users`. We talking about national roads and main roads, not residential roads (neighborhood roads) I dont rush/race around on the roads! I ALWAYS give way to cyclists where I CAN! If they riding 2-3 a breast and dont fall back into single file by the time I am about 10metres away, then I will give a short `toot` and if they still dont fall back then I`m not going to give way because this will make me drive onto the wrong side of the road to pass them, endangering my life! Cycling = inhaling CO2, dealing with i-rate Motorists????????? MTB = inhaling fresh O2, and NOT dealing with anything! So relaxing right now!
  5. Ya, then all the people who say live in the Northern Suburbs will have to cycle to work maybe in Town, or Southern Suburbs. Can see that working
  6. He is saying that people moan about cyclists He is blaming motorists. I am saying if everyone is unhappy then stand up and talk about it (not on the hub - not going to help) The motorist will always be at fault on a cycling forum??? Do you think the hubbers are gonna say it`s there fault????? The main point is that you guys choose to ride on the road so deal with the motorists! I am not refering to the drunk ones &/or illegal motorists. I am talking about the ordinary motorist, like myself who comes across many cyclists everyday and probably about 60% of them abide by the rules, they others don`t give a f%^k! It`s these 40% you need to have a stern talking to by non-cyclists or yourselves (as a group).
  7. I think you need to get everyone together as a `HERD` and go complain to the government about all the accidents and the way motorists are driving? What was that? you wont get anywhere with the government, well done. That`s because they don`t care about cyclists. Everybody needs to stop talking and complaining about accidents on the road because at the end of the day these cyclists choose to ride with `stupid` motorists!
  8. You have always got something stupid to say about motorists Roads are there for motorists! Therefore it works like this: The basic `food-chain` on the road is; 1)Trucks & Busses 2)Cars 3)Motorbikes 4)Cyclists Cyclists are number 4, which means you have to give way and respect the rest of the list!! It`s not that hard to understand! PS: There is nothing around you when you ride a bike compared to a car.
  9. The ones they wear are not booties! These which the guy is wearing in the picture are made of lycra, lycra is NOT waterproof! They were originally made to minimize wind resistence for top racing road riders. Therefore if you wear these while riding off-road through puddles your feet are going to get wet & stay wet!!
  10. The ones they wear are not booties! These which the guy is wearing in the picture are made of lycra, lycra is NOT waterproof! Therefore if you wear these while riding off-road through puddles your feet are going to get wet and not be able to dry
  11. If he got knocked over and he caused the accident, then it`s not my problem! HE left for a ride without THINKING about HIMSELF and HIS future by not wearing a helmet! If you feel so strongly about it then next time you see a guy not wearing a helmet open your window and shout at the guy When I see it I just think to myself "Dicey roadies" Maybe someone can recommend the small caps they were over in France (The ones they used to wear in the TDF)
  12. You think thats bad, you should see the clan that ride in Tokai with them on. Yes, thats right, they wear them while MOUNTAIN BIKING!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Thanks guy, get off my post!
  14. Going to the Doctor tomorrow for a mini-medical. Maybe he finds something??
  15. Thanks for the info. I actually eat the crumbed chicken breasts from Woolworths for supper quite often and this porbably plays a part! I find a banana, coffee and game (electrolyte drink) also ads to the severity.
  16. If all fails in cycling then I can take up Opera!!
  17. Read up about this yesterday. Sounds like something they give to lab rats
  18. This sounds right! Sounds like I need to keep up my food intake while riding?
  19. I think gasant112 is refering to the trails which can be seen from Ou Wa Pad. If you driving in your car in the direction on Long Beach. Go past the entrance to Silvemine on your right and just around the corner there is another entrance to the left. These trails can be seen down on the left just passed the above mentioned entrance when driving.
  20. Eina! So you didnt have time to bite them back then......
  21. I`m out of action for this week, bike in for service. Also not gonna make next week as a couple of us are in Oudtshoorn. So hopefully we can all meet up on the 30th September.
  22. How about less mileage and more beer
  23. Couple of bugs in between the teeth!
  24. Anyone also have the same problem? Do a MTB ride on a Saturday of around 50km - 3hrs (ascent of 1300m) Med to fast pace Also do a MTB ride on a Sunday of around 40km - 2hrs (ascent of 500m) Fast pace On the Monday and or Tuesday I have a constant burn in the wind-pipe.(indigestion) It`s not heart burn, maybe the lactic acid from the rides could be playing a part? Drinking milk helps but maybe there is a more sophisticated answer to this? Muscles are not sore at all. Any thoughts????
