What wind? You mean my 46mins commute back to Melkbos was not because I felt strong?

Wind was a bit fresh today. Have realised on the SS that regardless, your time does not vary too much. You have only one gear and can only pedal so slow. PS, who rides through the harbour?

I suppose with the weight of my bike and backpack I would set off a camera too, IF I could spin the singlepeed that fast! Have noticed how my legs have changed...veins all over now. Forgot my waterbottle yesterday - was properly stuffed when I got home. Realised again how important the right tyres are...they cut the grass from Big bay to Melkbos so the road was littered with thorns.

1. Chuck away the light tyres. Go bomb proof. Took me two Attas to learn that lesson. 2. Go slower at the beginning. 3. Take it easy down the descent before the burger stop. 4. Pass on the Burger, grab the potatoes. 5. Sunscreen. We were lucky last year. 6. Carry proper spares. 7. When you think you're done, you're not. 8. Enjoy. It's one if the nicest races. Especially the waterpoints.

Intervals!

Schwalbe Marathon Extreme. Brilliant on tar, lasts for ever and the tread pattern works well off-road, even loose rocks. Did the commute to town then Table Mountain trails on these in the morning.
