  1. What wind? You mean my 46mins commute back to Melkbos was not because I felt strong?
  2. Wind was a bit fresh today. Have realised on the SS that regardless, your time does not vary too much. You have only one gear and can only pedal so slow. PS, who rides through the harbour?
  3. I suppose with the weight of my bike and backpack I would set off a camera too, IF I could spin the singlepeed that fast! Have noticed how my legs have changed...veins all over now. Forgot my waterbottle yesterday - was properly stuffed when I got home. Realised again how important the right tyres are...they cut the grass from Big bay to Melkbos so the road was littered with thorns.
  4. 1. Chuck away the light tyres. Go bomb proof. Took me two Attas to learn that lesson. 2. Go slower at the beginning. 3. Take it easy down the descent before the burger stop. 4. Pass on the Burger, grab the potatoes. 5. Sunscreen. We were lucky last year. 6. Carry proper spares. 7. When you think you're done, you're not. 8. Enjoy. It's one if the nicest races. Especially the waterpoints.
  5. Comparable Southern Suburbs climb?
  6. Is this your route?!? Wow. Beats the socks off Paarden island.
  7. Anything mentioned on Days of our- I mean, Supercycling?
  8. Jens does not do drugs. Drugs do Jens.
  9. Would you be interested in taking old tubes and tyres. Mix of road and mtb. Obviously used but still some tread left, seems a waste to chuck out. Cpt area.
  10. Saw this on the One tonner...caused havoc in the paceline.
  11. Fast, furious and a huge amount of fun...I really enjoy this race...Hope the weather holds up.
  12. Very nice! What is the front wheel?

    One Tonner!

That section had me worried! Relatively calm after that though. Seems like a lot of riders that were riding without numbers?
  14. Like it a lot! Perfect commuting machine!
  15. Schwalbe Marathon Extreme. Brilliant on tar, lasts for ever and the tread pattern works well off-road, even loose rocks. Did the commute to town then Table Mountain trails on these in the morning.
  16. +1 for Lezyne. Olympic or Cyclelab.
  17. Cables....the audio equivalent of 26 v 29...For what it's worth, running Qed Silver anniversary in the ht system, vd hul 102 in the stereo system with Furutech balanced interconnects.
  18. Hehe, or your work access card...or to take your sweaty riding clothes out to dry.
  19. Thanks, wil go have a look there. I do turn the light down for runners and cyclists approaching, as I'm sure they'd find the blinking quite annoying!

  23. My steel and alu ss comes in at over 14kgs of fun AND intense training.
