    MotoGP

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2013/race+direction+decision+for+phillip+island+race The change came courtesy of an announcement from Race Direction after qualifying on Saturday, with Bridgestone having announced that it is unable to guarantee the safety of its rear slick tyres beyond ten laps. It has therefore been decided to make the following changes to the MotoGP™ class race in the interests of safety: 1. The race distance will be 19 laps (originally scheduled to be 27). 2. Every rider will be required to enter the pits and change to his second machine with fresh tyres at least once during the race. In normal circumstances this means that the rider must change machine only at the end of Lap 9 or Lap 10. 3. No rider is permitted to do more than ten laps on any one slick or wet rear tyre. This means that a bike/tyre change before Lap 9 would require a second bike/tyre change to finish the race. 4. The above procedure is valid for a dry race or a race that starts in wet conditions. Clearly in a wet race the rider will change to a bike with wet tyres. 5. If the race is started in dry conditions and it then rains the race will be stopped with a red flag. The restarted race will be for the number of laps required to complete 19 laps, but with a maximum of ten laps and a minimum of five laps. 6. Riders using ‘Factory’ and ‘Satellite’ machines will be required to use the ‘hard’ option tyre (B51DR). Extra quantity will be allocated by Bridgestone. 7. Riders using CRT machines will be required to use the CRT ‘hard’ option tyre (B50DR). Extra quantity will be allocated by Bridgestone. 8. The pit lane speed limit zone will be extended both on entry and exit and the exit route to rejoin the track will be marked by a white line in the runoff area. Crossing this line whilst rejoining the track from pit lane will result in a penalty.
  2. Maybe not the best, but certainly memorable (for all the wrong reasons):
  3. Most of us were there at some stage, and for me, it was getting those new gadgets and stuff to kep the motivation going. Enjoy.
  4. Look at it like this, just some extra motivation for you to lose some weight so you can use your new wheels.
  5. Thats what I am afraid of. When I go there on Friday, I think I will get her to show me that it has been changed on Racetec. ASG really seem like a real bunch of money grabbers. Just look at the challenge thread from WP. Shows their real colours.
  6. So ASG told me that my entry was changed to the 106km, but in the SMS, my entry is still for the 80km. Have you have any luck with these people? I have had confirmation from a lady called Jill.
  7. Maybe an engineer can explain this for us?
  8. Have you heard anything back from them about changing your entry?
  9. Received this mail from ASG: Rider alert - Satellite Classic: New venue and distances The venue for the 2013 Bestmed Jacaranda Satellite Classic, which takes place on 19 October, moves from Necsa to Saloon Route 66. The venue change will result in the event being immensely more rider friendly and easier to manage logistically. As a result the distances for the event also change. The 94km ride will now come down to 80km BUT STILL REMAINS A SEEDING EVENT for the 2014 Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour. The 114km ride now comes down to 106km – also a seeding event for the 2014 Cycle Tour. Riders who have already entered the middle distance and feel that 80km is too short, can upgrade to the 106km by sending an email with their name, surname and ID number to eventsupport@asgworld.co.za. You will updated on the entry sheets and receive a starting time with the long distance bunches.

  13. So in terms of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), they advertised full road closure but then did not provide it, do you think we could ask for a full refund?
