You opened a can of worms now my friend. I don't think it is CLEARLY the way forward (julien absalon and nino schurter), maybe the marketing in south africa is CLEARLY pushing us to think so. There's years of research and technology behind 26ers, why throw it away? rather have the option between the two. There are guys that prefer them, and then there are guys like you that prefer the 29er. All's good....just remember to love cycling man, stop with the "mine is better than yours" crap that so many people have these days.

Hope!!!! A guy pulled my front lever without the rotor being in the caliper. I did freak out (as you can imagine), but the next day, the pistons retracted to their normal position. I put the wheel back in and bobs your uncle. And bleeding these are freakin' easy

I've had my look quarts pedals for a year now. They're really light and if you don't like a too tight feel on your pedal it definitely is a good choice. The only problem that I have with them is that you can't adjust the tension at all. This becomes a problem when the mechanism starts wearing out a tad. I just bought a pair of Time ATAC pedals. Will let you know how they are. My 2c worth

well, after 3 weeks of waiting my xtr parts finally came. They sent me a 10spd chain and I ordered a 9speed one. Cant these people get anythin right????dont buy from buycycle ...ever

did he measure the chain for wear? also, if a new chain is placed on a very old casette it will also slip. does it slip in the front or rear?

does it slip or jump around?if its slipping then somethings worn out. what happened to me is that i had new x0 casette, x0 rear derailure and new chainrings and new pg990 chain. when i really hit the power it would slip. I changed to a xtr chain and problem was gone.

after you clean your freehub,what should you put on there? surely it can't run on nothing?

I understand that buycycle don't carry stock, they can then offer more competative prices, but the problem is if the product is miscommunicated to the suppliers. Like in my case. Order sintered pads and receive organic. This may not seem like a huge problem, but with all the rain falling the organic pads don't last that long. And every time its costing me R500.

Ok...got my stuff from buycycle. (or most of it at least) seems that they don't carry stock at all, because I ordered about 7 items and they were dispatched in 3 different parcels on 3 different dates. This seems stupid to me. Anyway, the issues: -The postal address I put in was ignored, and the items was shipped to my billing address. Luckily someone was there to receive them. -The second parcel only contained my brake pads I ordered. -I paid R532 for sintered brake pads for my hopes(2 sets). This seemed to be a bit steep. But when the pads arrived and they sent me the plain organic type, I was very displeased. I could have got those sets for less than R100 a set at crc.This is a total rip-off! -I can't track the third parcel because they sent me the wrong tracking number. It is the same one as the 2nd parcel that they sent. Again...bottom line...won't ever again support them. :thumbdown: :thumbdown:

I ordered a package of about 5 items from Buycycle. They say that some of the products need to come from another wharehouse. Now they sending me twod different packages and they say I should wait for the third package to be sent as well. I thought everything was in stock? Very bad service. About a year ago I ordered something from CWC. The service was amazing. I ordered it from them early the morning and got it the next afternoon. But on Monday when I did some research on a few products before buying from them they replied once, and never again. Bottom line. Service sucks. No matter which one you choose.

Ok, well, after I ordered eveyrhing I thought I needed I prepped my bike for the new components. Much to my dispair the following also has gone: -Front and rear wheel bearings of american classic mtb wheels; -Fork has now dried up completely; -pulley wheels; I already replaced: -bb -chainrings -chain -brake pads -cables This was the most expensive 85km I have ever ridden.

Ja, the original pads were organic, now I'm gonna try the sintered versions and see how they fair. Thanks for the great response and technical info. I didn't realize that a little component like a brake pad can be so complicated. But the little decisions you make on small components can ultimately have a major impact on your riding experience.

After close inspection it seems that I have to replace my inner and middle chainrings of my Aerozine crankset. Can I only use Aerozine? I heard that some Truvativ chainrings will work as well?
