  1. They used to have a partnership with Exclusive Books but most of those seemed to have gone. I used to be a regular at the Rosebank one. To be honest, I haven't noticed the brand of service stations that has Seattle but the one that I got to almost daily is Cyrildene, they are totally nice people there and the product never dissapoints. If you are on the road and need a coffee and you spot a Burger King, they do a good fresh coffee as well, large white is about R17
  2. Yes, long time and loyal customer here. Tall Latte YES! Generally a good customer experience and consistency between branches though there are one or two It try to avoid. Isn't Mr Seattle a mtb'er / hubber?
  3. Although taxis have taken to them as well - try eastern Commissioner Street, total frigging chaos. And I sure you all share my spirit of rejoice in the knowledge that the person who initiated this diabolical fiasco is now chairperson of City Power. Viva.
  4. I think he needs to work on the angle of the goggles http://c8.alamy.com/comp/FY66A1/cairns-australia-23rd-apr-2016-uci-mountain-bike-world-cup-mens-downhill-FY66A1.jpg
  5. Well assuming you don't ride in those lanes, its a death wish / certain suicide for cyclist, even hell in a motor vehicle, I avoid those roads entirely. That's the thing that really bothers me: taking up most of the road for dedicated bus lanes (which are barely utilised) the rest of the traffic is squeezed on to narrow lanes on the sides. One would think a realistic and objective study would have been down on the efficacy of the 1st phase before 'roll out" on to the likes of Louis Botha but no.. they carry on regardless and make a bad situation even worse. Why? - People making the decisions are detached from reality and focused on idealistic unpractical unworkable grand social engineering schemes ah la Soviet Union style - Grand public works schemes under the guise of "empowerment" - Too much money changing hands - kick backs, palm greasing etc - Lobbying by the Civil Eng industry (often said to be the most corrupt after the Arms Industry) Sounds a bit like the rest of the country doesn't it.
  6. Thanks, I know where that is now. Often going via that area motoring and in need of a decent coffee, no Seattles down that way.
  7. Where are they? I stopped off at a decent looking place corner Anderson & Harrison, the coffee I got turned out to be totally underwhelming despite the price and enticing mod look & decor. Downtown Jhb is certainly not the place to cycle for many reasons, HECTIC! I was going from doing a chore in Sellby to Jhb North, best is to go via Fordsburg from Marshalltown and avoid downtown / Braamfontein, though Marshalltown is okay, just dont go on any roads which have that dump phuck Ria Viva system!
  8. Well maybe a good time to start a "Manly Pros" thread to objectify, for the pleasure of those so inclined
  9. If you can't get enough of Ronde postmortems ...
  10. But they are never there towards the end, compare to Quik Step who generally have a few guys up front at the end ... and options.
  11. Maybe PS needs to be more foxy ah la Alesandro? Or beef up their team as suggested so he has more comrades towards the end, although his style is more maverick.
  12. What does PS expect ... others to help him chase and then get beaten by him in the sprint? Also knowing that others will sit on his wheel and then jump him at the last moment - ie MS last year. Only thing he can do is break free and gap it like Spartacus used to do, although he generally had the same problem.
  13. Yes, he sure has been noticed. I reckon QuikStep will sign him, and he will focus on road.
  14. Really nice & interesting looking houses there, everyone seems to have their own style (cf clusterphuck ZA style)

Yes, really sad & bad news last night. Series seas & breeze down there, and closest to the middle on nowhere. Sea temps about 7 deg C. They had a man overboard on the way to HK as well, but that was in warm relatively calm water. The skip made the point then that if this happened in the south seas with high swells he would have stood no chance.
  18. Well he should perk up considering he is the highest paid cyclist
  19. There's a new fluid drive tech that is supposedly quieter, and obvious muchos more moola
  20. If you are not aware of the cordless impact drivers, check that out for driving screws, its friggin awesome. Yes you can use a normal drill in driver mode, but this takes it to the next level, much easier to drive in wood screws, I got an entry level brushed Makita (sans battery) for about R1600
  21. Its been a while, but wasn't unreasonable if that is any help
  22. btw It you want a hardy, forgiving bench or table top, laminate saligna is good solution, once can order it it just about any size and they look good. I normally finish with few coats of that Nova 17 Matt
