  1. Wait a bit...still 7 days to payday???? Would like to test your tyres out. They look perfect for what I need them for. But geese...wont be able to get them now. You will anger the wife...again...????
  2. I bought a used Krups burr grinder on olx for less than R500 but got it for free in the end as the owner could not get it to work when he tested it before posting it to me. I got it to work and I am very happy with my morning coffees. Freshly ground pour over. I like the taste when using a paper filter. Takes out the finer particles that I get from my Moka. Never had an Aeropress to test but happy with what I have atm and I also like the coffee making ritual every morning. May take a little longer than a machine but thats fine. Im a chilled guy???? Get beans from Crater Coffees in Parys and Coffee Country in Potchefstroom. Both roast their own beans so I have some options locally. Lots to learn and test.
  3. Will start building my frame up real soon. Got my wheels over the weekend and hope to get a brake adapter today. Thens it's time!????
  4. Thanks. Will check on there.
  5. Hi Farrnus. Any small frames left?
  6. Sorry no pics of the frame yet. Quite a mission to get them on here. Dont have wheels yet but looked at it with my mtb wheels on and the seat set on the correct height. Beginning to think I should ride a small frame. Post only 10cm out of frame. ????
  7. Would try to get the (I'm gonna call it) preliminary build done ASAP. Want to feel it on the road real bad. Hope I can quickly get a through axle rear wheel. Everything else is ready. But yes! I'd like to see other builds too.????
  8. It's here! I'ts here! Was delivered this morning. Thanks Farrnus! This is quality, beauty and passion all in one! I'm in love. I'm really glad I got one. Joh its a very good looking frame and with everything I want on a bike. Look, I love carbon - it's featherlight and has it's own beauty. But joh this steel frame provokes another feeling that carbon does not. I have a feeling it's gonna change my bike life????. Hey gogo@ so you got the small. How tall are you? I'm allways unsure if I should get S or M bikes. I fall in that bracket between the two sizes and some brands even overlap the two right at my length. So it's going over to what I prever - bit small or bit big????. I'm telling myself the medium has a tad more damping in her longer curves. Also want to drool over mine all the time. PS. Will post pics later.
  9. Ah so he decided to build it up himself. Pics would be great!
  10. ???? It will come as you go. I figure stuff out as I go but cant spend too much atm. I have the 2008 shimano br m545 deore mechanical disc brakes. Not the best but I could set them up acceptably for gravel riding. I'm happy with them. I did read that the avids are good so you will be happy with them. I ordered on monday so hope to get it tomorrow. Didt expect it to be too light but thats great news. Is there a seatpost clamp included?
  11. On the wall! You dont put a Van Gogh in a box.???? I have a "throw together of parts gravel" bike that I will build over. One of the reasons I decided to take her was that almost all the parts will be compatable. Just the quick release rear hub pose a problem. Got 10 speed 105 shifters with cable disc callipers and a 9speed slx rd. Will go 1x for the flat world I live in. You have to check me on this but I think Shimano 9speed rear derallieurs are compatable with their road shifters 9, 10 and possibly even 11 speed if you want to try that. Normal road bars on mine. Just have to make a plan with the rear wheel as its a mavic aksium disc wheel with a quick release hub. I will ride it like this for a while but you know mos how it goes...I am a hubber and will be inspired by bargains and pictures on here to make her even better. Will have lots of time for many upgrades in future as her steel body will do million miles. But show your progress on here. Start with the pic on the wall????
  12. Oh my word! Thats good looking!! I took the orange. Have I mentioned before that I can not wait anymore... and now that you have posted these even less... Gonne ride the groads around potch to powder dust ????
  13. Got the Medium. It wont be in that box for one extra second when mine arrives????
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, I got one! Super excited! Can not wait for her to arrive!
  15. See they are still available on the site. What size frame would fit me @ 170.5cm?Small or Medium?
  16. Hi m-squared, I'm also looking at getting a milk frother. If he doesnt take it from you I would gladly. Want to start making my own good quality coffee at home. Im on the low budget road though. No machine for me unfortunately. Hope to get my burr grinder tomorrow which I got secondhand and then I can start learning and experimenting. Im super excited!! Edit: Spelling
  17. Yes thats the route. You can do out and back for the shortest distance yes. Its a long one if you want to get there.
  18. On 23 march 2018 in this thread Pall Cat mentions korfsnek with a link. If you want to do another lekker gravel climb not ridden by mtbers a lot(as seen on strava) you can go down into the bushveld. This is the lowest point. Follow the route as follows: On the gravel road from dullstroom to tonteldoos turn left just before tonteldoos (think theres a sign laersdrift) and keep straight on that gravel road over the r555 stoffberg-roosenekal tar road. Its a jewel. Bushveld gravel road steeply winding down into the gorge. Around 50km from dullstroom to the lowest point and then the works starts...all the way back up to dullstroom @2000+ meters. You can also go back via the r577 tar road through roossenekal if you want a sadistic climbing day. Also love exploring around there. R33 to belfast also has a good climb. Will figure out how to load some routes.
  19. I love the area. Great training routes with climbing in any direction you go out. My parents lives on a farm 30km from dullstroom down korfsnek climb. If I visit I always plan a hard training block with good climbing. Did a ride at the end of December 2018 with 2900m of climbing in 160km with the lowest point around 600m asl and the highest 2300m. Magical place for big training. And lots of small towns connecting the loops for stopping and fueling. (Oh and be carefull going down korfsnek (where the f@ck is tonteldoos strava segment) I went down hard on loose rocks on a turn. Ended my lekker 160km ride and got me 3 weeks off the bike with stitches in the knee.) Looking forward to this weekend. Gonne visit the family!
  20. Cant wait! No rain predicted. Gonna be watching it for sure. Hope someone will break the wolfpacks winning streak. Loving the racing and scenery and the opening weekend was fire!
  21. Hi. Searching for Tacx TTS4 pc software. If you're not using it anymore please let me know and we can organize something. Thanks.
  22. Aaah mannnnn!!! Wanted to do this sooo bad...started training in october and all were going well untill I had a stupid front wheel wipeout. Normally theyre not too bad but this time my knee got too much friction when it hit the gravel and rocks so it opened up. Few stitches and two weeks off the bike nullify the hard work a little. Sorry for the tears...now I feel better...not! Hope the rest of you have a great one. Send my love to The Hell Of The South.
