  1. Thanks Fruity, problem was with all the people moving around in the "Eiffel" Tower the vibration was quite bad...I did have to de-noise it a bit on iphoto...and then again there is more than enough light in Vegas..
  2. That day was not too bad, the previous few days never went above freezing... a sunset in Charlotte, NC and then a shaky Vegas scene..I could not get a tripod setup on the Vegas shot so had to bump up the ISO to try and keep the blurr at bay...
  3. Think it was more a lack of Skill & Talent...
  4. Nice One Fruity! One of Lincon (had to bump up the ISO as my tripod was shaky...and one of the FlatIron building in NYC..some crappy reason I could not get the pic sharp....
  5. Thanks Dangle..
  6. I love the braai that is between to the tracks!
  7. Thanks Gummi... took me forever to get time to resize....
  8. US some more...
  9. Some from my US trip...
  10. been trying to get some pics up..let's give it another go....
  11. I know! The speed needed to clear stuff on the smaller bikes sometimes scare older folk..
  12. Should be a peace of cake on a 26'er then... Edit: typo..stupid BB..
  13. Then I will have to start practicing..
  14. Now the question becons...can you do this on a HT...?
  15. Gents..there is no excuse to kill or abuse other people, refrence to colour or race makes no sense..can anyone say for certain that the poor victims in this case was attacked just because they are white?? What about the fact that the vast majority of leasure cyclists (the ones with the expensive bikes) are white..and the fact that the vast majority of people living in SA are black...and therefore the vast majority that is poor..will also be black? And therefore the vast majority of criminals that steal because they are poor (which is a pretty big driver for crime), will also be black? I do not condone any form of crime or violance against anyone irrespective of race or colour, I'm sure if someone does the research you will find that allot of black people gets killed and robbed by black people.. The fight should be against crime and criminals...no differentiation between colour or race should be made...the fact that the goverment is not doing their bit..that is a different debate that should not be had on this thread.. We are all very angry and fed up with the state of affairs in this country..yet we all tend to rather build a wall..(Me included).. I just pray we can somehow work together to get rid of the criminals in this country...
  16. I'm empty..have no more words, RIP dad and may the son find peace..
  17. To be honest, I love riding with cleats..I feel that I have way more control..never wiped out and end up still being cleated in..I always manage to un cleat.. Having said that I do recreational MTB'ing with the odd race for fun..I haven't done DH,AM or DJtrack..so for those dissiplines I'm sure there is an argument to be made for flats over clipless..for people that are new to the sport..stick to flats for now..and later think about clipless..
  18. A dude in spandex have never come to mind, damn man...why you have to ruin it?? Back to the lady trying to go down the hill safely... I think the gents that have successfully converted a lady to take up mtb'ing..have street cred (I'm yet to convert my better half...but I have a plan atleast..) Mayhem, crow, mojo, covie, V and co..good advice.. And flossy, aan houer wen...you will get there as long as you keep at it...the fact that you raised the question shows you are willing to learn, rather than just keep walking...and evidently stop riding. Thumbs up!
  19. Depends on colour...
  20. For the ladies...it just makes them nervous, they try and see how quick they go to make sure it isn't too fast...my wife goes about 10kmh quicker on road bike on the downhills when her speedo does not work...but shhhh!! As for the men....I like to keep mine on..try and get it to the next interval of 10...
  21. Do you have hydraulic disk brakes? I found that knowing you can slow down easily helps with confidence, other than that, take the speedo off..helps mentally not to know how fast you are going, take the same peace off downhill and go down it, just aming at getting down it a bit further each time...soon you will down the hill all the way, then you can start working on the pace...
  22. Share your sentiments on the week mayhem, started off with a business trip to jhb, crashed harddrive, data recovery issues and deadlines set in stone..(Haven't been robbed...yet..) Hope your weekend makes up for it...
  23. Older XT(775 I think) and SLX(66something), no issues that is why I wondered how you would adjust clearance (between rotor and pads), as Covie mentioned. Was just out of curiosity..
  24. Apologies if this is deemed a hijack, how do you set the clearance on shimano brakes? I have swapped pads, bled brakes before but never tried to adjust the clearance...
  25. Punctures..not valid..intersections..you should slow down anyway, and it is not a race. It is about being out there on your bike, being safe, not being stressed or the cause of someone else's stress and just enjoying it. But each to their own, you wanna be the guy riding on the shoulder or in the road while there is a cycle lane so be it.. Just defies my logic.
