  1. Yup , you guys skipped the start.
  2. We normally change at the last checkpoint before the never ender, some guys change at Bergplaas. I do believe that we will get wet crossing onto the Never ender so I think dry shorts are not going to happen.I always carry my own food but you can eat up a storm if you so desire. Braai, flap jacks . My wife will feed us at the checkpoint before the Never ender.
  3. You can check the weather for the baviaans farming community on www.yr.no then do a search.
  4. I can not talk for Ecobound but the roads are fine at the moment. There will be no problems with medical and support personal. The water at the deepest is just above knee height. We had no problems this week end.
  5. Did the ride this week end from Willomore to the never ender. In my opinion there is no reason as why we will not do the route. There may be a lot more water at the moment but all is passable. The deepest is about thigh deep. So for those that were hoping to do the Langs die baviaans I think that you are going to be disappointed. Lets hope that there is no more rain in that area for the next 3 weeks.
  6. Have a Jol, I am riding on 8 weeks of training due to being sick as well. NO time goals, just to try and finish. I know I am going to have to walk at times. So what.Enjoy all the refreshments at the check points , you have paid for them as well as the fantastic views. DNF beats DNS beats DNE.
  7. The first thing the Drs/Cardiologists ask is do you get dizzy when exercising. I am not sure how you can measure a blood pressure drop unless you are all wired up to monitors. The question of blood sugar is dependant on how long after she started to exercise the symptoms occur. Most people have reserve of 1hr before they start using their bodies reserves.
  8. have a stress ecg done? Maybe telling you something.
  9. Report back from the guys who rode this week end. The road from Willomore to the Wilderness area is is fine. From the start of Wilderness area there is plenty of water. Many of the rivers that cross the roads are waist deep and they had to cross with the aid of 4 x 4. Roads in this area are eroded. Fangs 2 is still a B!tch. From top Bergplaas to Kondomo is fine. So with 3 weeks to go the water should be down to a playable level. Hold thumbs guys that we have no more heavy rain in that area over the next 3 weeks.Transbaviaans is looking good for this year.Still waiting for news on Never Ender.Last week when we rode it was still flooded.
  10. He was just the best of all the doped cyclist of his era.So do they then start investigating all the guys who came 2nd as they are now the winners? It is one big witch hunt. Draw a line in the sand and lets move on. Oh wait ,it is all about an individual trying to make a name for himself. How will cycling benefit from this exercise? Nothing.
  11. You will never be fit enough, just do not try and race it. Do not go anaerobic if possible. If you have to walk some of the climbs then do just that. The goal is to finish in less than 24hrs.
  12. Thanks for all the advice. I have contacted an engineering supply shop,I will visit them tomorrow.
  13. Thanks , whats the difference between food grade and normal.
  14. It would appear as if the o ring on my lid is not sealing properly. Any idea if this part is replaceable? If so from where? Don't want to buy a new bladder if I do not have to.
  15. We riding on the week end. Will post condition on Monday.
  16. The base of the never ender is still under water. About 100 meter wide.
  17. This was predicted. :cursing:
  18. I have just spoken with people in the Kloof. Sounds as if the damage is not too bad. Said we could ride there this week end.
  19. Copy of e mail received from the guesthouse at Sandvlakte. I think Langs die Baviaan is looking like a reality. The river is in full flood and parts of the road is washed away in several locations. The road through the wilderness will be inaccessible for a very long time. I will let you know what is happening since the farmers are trying to open up parts of the damaged road today and the rest of this week.
  20. The tour is boring. No attacks, just cycle 220 km a day and repeat the next. some nice sprints but no attacks.
  21. Kouga Dam is overflowing. It was at 84% level before the rain started. Plenty of rain must have fallen to fill it up.
  22. Why chiro, you need an ortherpod. Stop wasting time you are only getting weaker.
  23. Go under the knife. There comes a time when you have exhausted all other avenues that you have two options continuous pain or the pain of recovery. I did mine and was swimming again after 3 months. The sooner you do it the sooner you will recover. Do not ignore the physio. It is an essential part of the post operative recovery process.
  24. You can buy a handle bar mount for the 310 it is a quick release from arm to bike and back again. Check on the web.
