sorry if it was a rant but I feel it is something that can happen to anyone who uses credit cards. I am told that this is a new feature since July this year. Be warned guys.

Phone now functioning at 15h00. What a mess

I run a production wholesale nursery.

Hey guys, Yesterday morning my daughter phones me,boyfriends phone, and tells me that her cell phone has been suspended due to non payment. Mine is still working fine.I phone the wife , my son, my reps they all have the same problem.My phone and the office premi cells are working fine. I contact Vodacom, jump through hoops ,climb ladders and just waste my time as I hold on.We finally discover that my credit card which they debit had expired in October.Now in December they decide that they can not process the debit .With all the IT experts at their disposal they could not send me a simple e mail saying that my card was about to expire and can I please send them the new details.I know I should have been awake and sent them my new expiry date when I got the new card but all the other service providers send out e mails as a reminder to send through the details. I do an electronic transfer and within an hour all phones are up and running.Problem solved.Ha Ha Ha.Last night the two phone which were not switched off are suddenly suspended,this after the problem has been rectified.I have now spent 3 hours on the phone and no one at Vodacom can tell why these phones are not functioning.They say they are working properly,the recorded message on the other side tells me otherwise. So when dealing with Vodacom and paying by credit card be aware of your expiry date.
