  1. I'm in the market for a lightweight helmet mounted light that is USB rechargeable, pushes out > 500 lumens and has a long lasting battery. The Exposure Joystick ticks the right boxes. Anyone had any experience with them? Good/Bad
  2. Absolute Black 30t Oval delivered this a.m. Bike now ready, just have to decide how much singlespeed riding I want to do over the next 4/5 months before conversion to a 1x11.
  3. I have an Alpkit Soloist but it’s a 3 season tent. Nice and lightweight.
  4. 11-50 cassette delivered this morning. 30t Oval on its way.
  5. Looking for replacement hoods for Shimano Ultegra ST-6600.
  6. I have had one on my Surly for over 2 years and love it.
  7. I'm taking my Karate Monkey with me to Kyrgyzstan later this year. Planning on putting a 1x11 drivetrain on with a 30t Oval upfront and a 11-46 on the rear.
  8. Going to be a while before I'm finished prepping the frame.
  9. I just bought some 2k spray cans and clear coat from Joe's Automotive in Benoni.
  10. I ordered the Kenwood 45cm fan from Takealot.
  11. Thanks guys. Nice that it has a remote control. Takealot are R175 cheaper for the Kenwood than Makro.
  12. I've come to the realisation that the fan I've been using for my IDT isn't strong enough. Apart from the Wahoo Headwind, none of the recommended IDT fans are available in SA. Can anyone recommend a decent fan that has a relatively high CFM and no, I'm not spending R6.5k on a fan.
  13. Correct. Rather be safe and appoint a compliant contractor that has the necessary H&S certification.
  14. I rode that route last Friday afternoon. An enjoyable route.
  15. I just read that the ILS (Instrument Landing System) at ORT is off due to the calibration having expired. CAA haven't replaced the calibration aircraft that crashed a couple of months ago. Could be a disaster waiting to happen.
  16. Some further feedback. I couriered the broken shock down to Isiko on Monday afternoon and received it back on Wednesday morning. Excellent turnaround time and big kudos to Benjamin and Isiko Sports.
  17. They even offered to service and rebuild the existing shock and update it to the new specs (obviously at a cost), whilst waiting for the new shock. I'm going to take them up on that offer.
  18. Just some feedback. I contacted the CC agents in Cape Town (Isiko Sports) and sent them an email together with photos. I just got off the phone with Benjamin and Cane Creek will be replacing the shock. I'll just have to wait a while whilst they are waiting for parts to build the shock for me. So notwithstanding that I purchased the shock in Germany, Isiko Sports and Cane Creek have come to the party. Excellent customer service.
  19. I've had the Suito for the last week or so and am really enjoying it. No issues whatsoever. I did order an ANT+ dongle at the same time which I haven't received yet but don't actually need it, as the Bluetooth connection from the trainer and from my Sunnto HRM connect seamlessly to my laptop.
  20. I'm not too worried about the Cotic. That's why I ride steel bikes. The CC I imported myself from Germany and had less than 500km on.
  21. I built up a new Cotic Rocket about 18 months ago and decided that I wanted a Cane Creek Dbl Barrel Air IL for my rear shock. I really enjoyed the shock and it never gave me any issues until yesterday. Was riding at Cradle Moon with a few mates and after bunny hoping a log, the shock shaft broke away from its mount, dumped out all the oil and dented the steel downtube of the Cotic. To say I'm notimpressed is an understatement. Definitely a design flaw.
