Hi Guys, Just entered the 94.7 MTB Challenge. I am doing the Road as my primary, but decided to give the MTB challenge a go. I am new to MTB'ing and only done one race to date (Nissan trailseeker at Teak trwo weeks ago). What are the best races to do to get a better seeding for the MTB race? Dont want to start at the back.... Any advice will be

Which is better of between Athena and Centaur? I know the Athena is 11sp but other than that the price is the same. Need to choose and not sure which is a "higher" spec between the two. Cant afford chorus or record. Are they on par with the Ultegra or force?
