  1. Axis bikes are very well priced.... perhaps deserves a closer looksy before I choose the Scott 29 FS
  2. Thats a nice pace....
  3. Yeah, never had issues but always feel better with mates and the chats and coffee are great!. Haven't touched the road bike in a while so This weekend I must make a plan
  4. Havent done the Cradle in ages.... need to get my AIG... Its such a great ride. I do worry about riding alone lately though, especially sparrows fart
  5. If R300 IS too much, then don't pay and you can be a supporter! And as far as I know, it is illegal to ask for more than R300 (Non PPA) .... same as buying tickets for a concert and then selling at gate for a higher price.
  6. What a game!
  7. That's not a bad idea.... Might make a person think twice and over time will help clean up the cyclist image on the roads
  8. Glad they ok! Good news they have the plate..... I hope the responsible person gets what they deserve
  9. Thanks for the correction - quite right, X2 And the price difference is R2000 in favour of the Scott Poll updated with X2
  10. Both have rok shok and basically only difference is the frame? Can't decide which I prefer though. Scott IMO does look better - Giant ain't bad though but I think has better name and Resale? http://www.scott-sports.com/us_en/product/11256/61172/221701 http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-za/bikes/model/anthem.x.29er.2/10745/53401/

    Snakes

    How does that function exactly?
  14. Thanks for the advice guys. I will go and see what the cost for a higher model and see what I can get for my current bike
  15. Hi guys, I am currently looking at upgrading my suspension on my Merida 96 dual sus. I currently have a manitou front shock and x mission rear which came with the bike and I have been told they are very entry level and heavy. I have no experience in upgrading the suspension and wanted to know what ( other than weight) I should look out for? Any advice will be appreciated.
  16. The route was easy and did offer a bit of everything. I was nursing a back injury so decided to check out website and chose maroon. Would like to do red and yellow on my next trip down and if I'm at a good level black. As for the complaints re markers, I can only agree with some frustration by others about it not being clear. But then again, it's also fun to explore. I guess many are one time riders from outta town so the unknown may be an issue.... so not knowing which way to go in a fork can be frustrating. Will I go back? FOR SURE! Hopefully Holla management will take on the feedback and make it even better.
  17. 25km
  18. Sidi dominator and they come in a wide format http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=31975
  19. I rode the maroon on Sunday and only had once instance where I had to turn back and was my fault, the maroon course is well marked and had a good ride. for the cell not being answered though.... So right about an emergency
  20. Nah, will stick to Merida rather... If I can't get an Italian , I will keep my 96.... Never been a fan of american kit (even though my group set is ) Now to find wheels, let's start there.... Alex rims currently on must go as I imagine they very entry and heavy.
  21. That's a full carbon frame right? I quite like Merida, my first road bike was a Merida and now the MTB. I do enjoy riding it and I find it very comfortable. It ain't very light though... Perhaps I will upgrade the wheels bars stem etc and when it's all upgraded, look at a full carbon frame. Works out more expensive, but it is fun!
  22. WOW! How did you get that right? Mine is quite heavy but it's stock. I have the 1200 But wish I had bought the 3000
