  1. David. I have a 175 mm crank set without chainrings you can have. BB included, used but still OK. Think it is 130BCD, must just confirm. Will post pics just now. It's an old Truvativ, but stil serviceable. Maybe another Hubber can help you with chainrings.
  2. Late birthday gift from me, to me.
  3. David, I did check it the same time, and there was lateral play. Will take some time tomorrow to try and fine tune it a bit more. (spent about an hour on it a few weeks back) Can't wait till I can upgrade to proper wheels with sealed bearings, so over this Shimano crap.
  4. Thanks Robert. Received the package this morning, fitted it (after a bit of a pow-wow with Robert) and most of the flex/movement is now gone. There is still a bit of flex, but I suspect that could be from the Shimano cup 'n cone hubs that will need a bit of fine tuning. (if I grab the fork and try and move it backwards and forwards, there is no flex. With the wheel fitted, there is some flex. When I grab and hold the wheel firm whilst rocking, there is no flex, therefore my presumption that it could be the hubs that's the culprits now) Hope my ramblings makes sense. ☺️
  5. Can someone print me the insert / mount for a Garmin, similar to this? I do have the mount, but the plastic mount/insert was repurposed to fit on a Integral Stem Handlebar on my bike that I sold.
  6. Been to Janos, they do not have in stock what I need.
  7. See my amended heading.
  8. My bad, Guys. After some more precise measuring of my headset cups (using a vernier), it transpired I need a ZS41/30 cup/bearing. These seems to be more readily available. Must add for more clarity, this is for a 1 1/8th Straight steerer fork. (rigid fork on my hybrid bike)
  9. I'm looking for the above headset cup/bearing to get my Gravel Grinder / Hybrid bike turning properly. I do not have have R800 to pay for a Hope or similar top of the range item.
  10. Mine is 700x35c, so quite skinny.
  11. I do. Alternates between them and gravel tires on my Hybrid. Been using for a few years now, no problems at all.
  12. Glad other people also noticed that there were no interview with them at the finish line, and it sounded to me like Baum's father was prevented from meeting them on the line, (Gerald alluded to it) where the other teams had people swarming all over them. It was like they were left hanging there, until they left the finishing area on their own. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
  13. He is an amazing person and athlete. To think, a few years back he was fighting for his life in Hospital after a very bad cycling accident (got taken out by a speeding motorcycle on Smitswinkel). It was a long road to recovery, and today he completed the Cape Epic. What a mensch......... A standing ovation to CS. Must also thank MI for guiding him over the last week, he is a great team mate to have.
  14. Racetec site.
  15. Best advice.
  16. The amount of gel and energy bar wrappers that was flapping in the wind did not bother me so much, but the number of discarded Tubes got me hot under the collar. Jeesh, there was one every few hundred meters it seemed. FFS, you carried your spare tube up to that point, just roll your old tube up and put it a shirt pocket, it does not take up much space at all. Rant over. Coming down into Houtbay, at the corner where the statue of the Leopard is on the rock, there was a fallen rider against the curb. Luckily there was a Marshall with him already, and Woofy stopped at the Ambulance stationed in front of the filling station to inform them about the patient. Hope he is OK.
  17. Untrained and overweight. Riding Gravel/Hybrid with slicks. Would have been happy with a sub 5, over the moon with my sub 4:30. No issues and the dreaded cramps stayed away.
  18. Glad to be of some help. Now go and clean that chain again, and apply your "dry weather lube" before you go out. It attracts dirt and dust, and you don't want grinding paste on your chain.
  19. 🤣 Going up Smits I had a guy riding in front of me. His Bibs was foaming so much, blobs of foam was falling on the road. It was a sight to behold. Myself and another guy had a good chuckle about it.
  20. Good luck to all. Keep the rubber side down, please.
  21. I'd rather ride in the damp/wet than in howling wind and scorching heat. Already got my "wet weather gear" out and ready. Only thing to decide on now is whether to fit the 40c Gravel tires, or the 40c Slicks.
  22. Great, your drivetrain will love you in the wet. Only hassle with it is that it goes on thick (as it should do) and it turns your chain and cassette black. Takes a bit of cleaning to get it shiny again.
  23. Now that you put it that way......
  24. I'm using "White Lightning Wet Ride" (the Purple one) when doing wet rides on my Mtb, so it should suffice for a wet road ride too. Available at most LBS.
