Pleasure. Just go out anytime after sunrise, there will be loads of cyclist around, most doing a relaxed ride out to top of Suikerbossie / Llandudno and then back for a brekkie or a coffee stop somewhere. Lots of guys stop in Kampsbaai for a midride coffee. (can cause congestion there, but it's part of the vibe.) Roads will be packed with both riders and excitement.

Those CBX's are devine.....

As safe as can be with hundreds, if not thousands, of cyclists around you. But be safe, and follow the road rules, not to say if another cyclists ignores a Stop Sign or blows through a Red Traffic Light, you can do the same. Enjoy the beauty and atmosphere that will be all around you.

Going to be a very interesting season, that's for sure. BB33's pace and consistency pleasantly surprised me.

Ja, we did kick up a bit of dust. 16 Mtb's at speed will do that. Lol.......

You are most definitely going to loose more time stopping and refilling, than you would by carrying an second bottle.

Straight down the road from the finish area. Go underneath the "bridge" and keep right to join up with Main road. Cycle down to the CBD, turn left on Long str, and you cycle straight into CTICC.

Good news (or maybe not so good news due to my distinct lack of training) I will be doing my 18th CTCT this year. Thanks to Eddy and and the accommodating staff at the CTCT Race Office. I will just wing it on my hybrid, hoping my knowledge of the route will enable me to finish without suffering too much. Anything less than 5hrs will be a bonus to me.

Park at CTICC, it's just down the road from the finish, and close to the start. Alternatively park at Waterfront.

Substitution is / was only R200.00 The original entrant can sell his entry for any fee he wants, (or gift it) as long as it is not more than the original entry fee.

R680.00 was the original entry fee. But as Eddy gifted me his entry, it would have only cost me R200 to enter. That's a great deal less. Lol.....

I will rather not say what this reeks of for me, it it happens to be the case.

Apparently not. Confused the crap out of me when I read "substitutions closes on 21 Feb 2022" Always could do substitutions at Expo/Registration.

I phoned CTCT Race Office. and the friendly but firm answer was that the substitutions has closed, they cannot reopen a link for me. But I can still do a "Late Entry" under the International riders section, and it will only cost a mere R850 to enter. So I guess CTCT number 18 is not going to happen this year.

Seems like substitutions closed on the 21st. Sent the CTCT peeps a mail to hear if substitutions will still be entertained. I hope for all contemplating a substitution at this late stage, that they will.

Yeah, you right. We did not go over Chappies the year we went over Ou Kaaps. We actually went over Slangkop and Kommetjie to make up the distance. So it must have been 2004 or thereabouts.

Ja, the Flasher at the start of Little Chappies. Could not believe my eyes....Wanted to turn back for another look.

That's sad news. Uncle Les was an icon in the SA motorcycling field. RIP.
