  1. I have just bought one to fit to my tandem. Bought it a few weeks ago and it never worked at all. Read up on it on another forum - looked for all the faults that were reported and still nada. Gave up and waited for the Argus Expo and after round two with lots of fiddling with magnets to get the right LED's to flash they agreed that it was broken. They replaced the sensor there and then. Took it home and fitted it in time for the Argus. The problems with the old 725i one were that it never worked on an IDT and it was all but impossible to get consistent across all the gears. Apparently the new one is better in both respects (although I have my doubts) - but as I have mine sensing the timing chain and don't intend to use the tandem on an IDT I don't expect that problem. The local polar people aren't jumping up and down about it either. I still have to check it against my PT - will fit my PT wheel to the tandem and ride solo when I get a chance and report back. But to be honest I would rather spend the R6k on a used PT.
  2. Hey I wish I had legs like that dudes arms.
  3. Ooohh sh*t ...... Sorry Ronelle. You know I'm only teasing.
  4. ... but not "cycling wise" you mean???
  5. In my opinion it's not so much a case of the individuals that are being tried and sentenced here, although by naming the club there was in intention to try to do that. I think that most people are generalising about cyclists behaviour on the road - which is wrong anyway. The fact is that if you are an inconsiderate motorist you will be an inconsiderate cyclist and vive versa. Satan seems to fit that mould perfectly - as do the 4 terrorists ... apparently.
  6. hypothetically, if you break it off in an attempt to arm yourself in self-defense against an unwarranted attack by the motorist maybe it is justified. The point being that we don't know the whole story here only GO, Satan and the 4 cyclists know what really happened and we have been fed the usual one-sided "cyclist is a baddie" line - by another cyclist nogal! I am NOT saying they were right but it would be nice to get the real story first time round for a change!
  7. ever walked under one of those power lines with a fluorescent tube at night? Makes you wonder a bit
  8. A man of my own heart! Well done
  9. ooohhhh! I see glove lying on the ground and many toppies waiting in line to pick it up. Maybe you are right, but maybe it is for the same reason that insurance costs you so much more than it costs me - because society has decided that as we get older we get a bit more sensible and when we toppies see a rule that makes sense in terms of our safety we generally obey it.?? not always but mostly.
  10. Sorry, I did not make myself clear. I was told, so this is not necessarily fact, when I asked why someone would do something as stupid as the comm did, that on a blind corner an oncoming car had to take to the hard shoulder (gravel) (at speed) to avoid the bunch that was in the yellow on the right hand side of the road. This was from 2 elites, separate accounts. After the bunch completely ignored his hooting he tried to stop the race - kamikaze style. Windbreaker2008-02-17 10:10:21
  11. maybe they never let you in 'cause you ride like a girl
  12. Over the past few weeks I have been on the road on the weekends only (and Killarney twice) - work & traffic constraints. ID trainer 3-4 mornings a week 1hr - 1hr20 and probably close to the fittest I've been in many, many months. But it really does require dedication, structured interval sessions & GOALS. Did I mention dedication?? Lots of it? A powertap helps Get the cheapest magnetic trainer you can find.
