  1. Had a close call this morning. Took the mtb out today as our roads were still muddy. Car almost clipped me from behind, managed to jump out the way but hit a pile of dirt next to the road. Short story, had a nice fall as I didnt unclip fast enough. Tyre debeaded and I could not get it seated again. Luckily one of my customers came past and gave me a lift to work. Be carefull out there. This was my closest shave yet!
  2. Didn't ride the last 2 days. Road has been a bit off a mudbath and dont feel like replacing drivetrain now. Should be back at it tomorrow.
  3. Mountain bru, where are those pics taken. Really nice. Looks familiar, but the dam not! Like the bike!
  4. I need to savour this week. On the podium. Will most likely be my last week there.
  5. Yes yes, big softy me. Had my wife pick me up yesterday at work and took the Bantam to work today. Good thing I did as I had to go to the other side of Town to help my Mom in law, to jump start her car. She forgot to switch of the lights when she went to the shop. Hopefully I will get a ride tomorrow. Enjoy
  6. Thanks, up and running(riding). Need to get a headstart. Enjoy
  7. Much respect indeed! Those are impressive no by the top 5. Lets see what 2020 brings.
  8. Is there a 2020 challenge setup yet?
  9. Nice, had a good ride in this morning and hopefully will finish it off with a ride tomorrow. Thank to all for the year and enjoy. PS is anyone setting a challenge for 2020?
  10. Looks like I may be done for the year. Had a work emergency and I am helping out at the other branch. Need the car to get from one side to the other as needed. Will see maybe I can get a last ride in after Christmas. Enjoy the holiday!
  11. Still working. Also did not ride today. Will hopefully do a couple of km's before year end.
  12. My wife drives the Suzuki. She can be a bit off a maniac behind a wheel. It is a 2016 model with just short of 90000km on it. I would say that at least 30000km of that has been on gravel. We have 8km gravel before we get to the nearest tar road. So far very happy with it.
  13. These Suzuki's can fit a lot in. I own the older one and am often surprised what we can fit in when needed. They also have decent ground clearance and gravel roads are no worries. Enjoy
  14. Started riding again yesterday, but my phone playing up. Strava did not load yesterday and this morning Endomondo did not record the commute in to work. No riding tomorrow as I have to drop my girl off at a friend. Will be happy to reach 6500km for the year as things stand.
  15. Really nice. Need to get a project frame to try something like this. Have been playing with the idea to build a monstercross bike as a commuter. Need to start looking for a frame. Really outstanding work!
  16. Well done Cat I. No commuting this week. On leave, however no rest. Did a survey up in Venda today. Man was it hot. Had to do a lot of walking as large parts of the project had no roads. Almost dehydrated, not cool. Will hopefully be back riding next week!
  17. Well done to Rouxie, see he has also passed the 6000km mark. Not sure how you reach 8000km in a year. Kudos to all of you!
  18. Great job all. Hit 6000km today. Yay finally. On leave next week so no commuting, dont think I will make 7000km for the year. Will be happy with 6500km. Just to many weeks during the winter that I didnt ride enough and then the week before last that I only did 1 day riding. Awesome Hairy on 8000km, should be my goal for next year. Rouxie should get to 6000km this week ass well. Have a good evening all!
  19. Should hit 6000km this afternoon. Missed 2 rides last week, may have needed a boat for Thursday morning.
  20. I also really like that bike. Need to build me something along those lines. I like my Fuji cx1 frame, but tyre clearance is limited. Really would like to be able to run bigger tyres than the 38x700c currently on. The fork has enough space but I am limited at the rear. The gravel roads I ride are generally very corrugated and mtbike tyres really do much better.
  21. Lets see if I can hit 6000km this week!
  22. Should be back riding next week. Should be able to ad a 1000km if not a little bit more. Aim was to hit 7000km for the year. Doubt I will make it with this week not riding at all. Must add that I am very thankful for the rain we received this week up in Polokwane.
  23. Thanks. Feeling better, maybe will try and ride tomorrow. The road is also one big mudpool at the moment. Not complaining as we needed this rain.
